The cloudy day may have dampened the hues that are usually visible here. None the less, we loved it still. Breathtaking views!

The "Fiery Furnace" was only one of several fantastic arches to view in Arches National Park. A person receives a detailed map upon entering the Park. It's very easy to follow. Several walkable trails are available. Remember to get a National Parks Sticker, will save you some money.Plan on spending at least half a day, depending on how many trails you plan on using. You can easily spending a day here. Enjoy.

You see this in the distance and think - what is going on here? It is a lot of red spires and towers - and enjoyable to look at BUT you have to get a permit or go on a guided tour to actually walk into the area - which makes sense since this looks like a maze of rocks where on would easily get lost!

If you are adventurous and not afraid to test your hiking skills, the fiery furnace is a great place to go. After exploring most of the Arches National Park, we decided to get a permit (you will need one for the hike) and head into the fiery furnace. Amazing and beautiful! It is a challenging hike for a few reasons, 1. There is no trail. 2. You are climbing large rocks and often cannot see what is on the other side. We were there in the winter so it was pretty cold and even a little snow fell. There is a tour and maybe for the first time, you go that route. We opted out of the tour and went on our own for the adventure getting lost in the one mile square area. You could spend an hour or six wandering around. Definitely the highlight of our trip!

I did the 3-hour Fiery Furnace guided ranger hike in November. The weather was perfect and it was easy to get a same day or next day spot since the park was relatively empty in November compared to the summer season. Our park ranger was really informative and the hike was beautiful. There is a $10 fee. Permits are needed to go without a ranger, but it's easy to get lost since there are no marked trails. I would highly suggest the ranger guided walk and would book early if visiting at a busy time of year.

Amazing journey that task at least 3 hrs to complete, very tiring and sort of tough. If you do not like a lot of walking this is not for you, but it truly is a cool experience. Worth the space on your bucket list!

Be sure to make reservations ahead of time. This hike is amazing! We went with my parents who are in their 70's and then again with a group of friends. We were all able to comfortably do the hike. They warn you that it could be difficult but take the chance and go!

We took the Ranger guided tour with our 8 year old son and he had no trouble. The hike was very interesting and the Ranger was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my friend hurt his knee during the hike and had to be carried out by rescue personnel. They were all extremely competent and professional. It wasn't the way we wanted to finish the hike but my friend and I were both very grateful for their help. Despite my friend's injury we had a great time in the Fiery Furnace and we highly recommend taking the Ranger guided hike.

A must do!! Husband and I are 60+ and were somewhat apprehensive. Although it is not a stroll it is absolutely doable for anyone in relative good shape. Experience, scenery is not to be missed!!

Arches national park is incredible. Yet even within this place the guided tour to fiery furnace stands out. I don't know how people can manage to go in there without a ranger - I am good at navigation, but I got lost 10 minutes into the tour. The hike itself is not for an easy stroll, but neither is it the frightening thing the rangers make it out to be. Beautiful sand fins, arches, bridges, and water holes, all up-close an personal.

We signed up for the ranger led hike through the fiery furnace in Arches National Park.6 of us, ranging from 52 down to 23 years old.Wonderful time, beautiful scenery! Took us about 3 hours.

Took the ranger lead tour with my wife. The views were fantastic. Our ranger was Kait and she did a fantastic job. A lot of information and was very concerned about everyone's safety. I would recommend to do this hike.

We went through the Moab Adventure center to book this hike being you have to have a guide. We were so happy we did this because we only had 4 people in our group which made for a better experience. This is a magical place, it's silence and beauty are awesome. By far our favorite part of our trip..it's a must do!

Ranger Allison was informative and ensured everyone was safe on this 90+ hike, 2 mile walk. We definitely would have been lost without a guide. That said, it was disappointing that a family did not follow the rules, bringing two children under the age of five on the hike---also 22 people were too many for this experience. Middle school age children had little parent supervision, loud and inappropriate conversation diminished the serenity and beauty. If I were to do this again, I would opt for a private, small tour. That said, it was super inexpensive to go with the Park Service. Too much time was "waiting" on the entire group to pass through technical areas and learn about the geology (Allison was amazingly patient with the entire group--she tried to keep the kids in check!) Maybe they could offer adult only tours with less people and increase the cost.
