The Navajo trail winds down to the bottom of the canyon and has several spots where you can find shade for a quick rest while making this hike. There are some interesting surprises along the way that makes the hike special.

We spent most of our day driving the rim road and doing some hiking there as well, and after seeing them all day from above, we really wanted to get down among the hoodoos. We knew we were racing against the sunset, but we were determined to complete this hike. It took us a little more than an hour to get to the canyon floor and back. I wish we could have taken a more leisurely pace, but we didn’t want to get caught down there in the dark. The hike was still nice. Some folks find this trail intimidating. There are a lot of switchbacks going both directions, but wasn’t too strenuous. It was cool to get among the hoodoos and see how large they really are. Some created their own ecosystems, as there were a number of trees growing in the protection of the hoodoos. At times, it was almost like being in a cave with the deep shadows and the craggy walls towering above you. We were very glad we took this hike and would highly recommend it!

It's popular for a reason and it is amazing. We went during winter and it wasn't too busy. You start at the top and descend down into the "canyon" to walk amongst the hoodoos. A great way to spend 2-3 hours whilst in the park. Don't be one of the millions that go all the way there to only look at it from the top! ;)

There's lots of places to walk and it's an amazing hike if you take it. Lots of gnarly trees, squirrels and other amazing things to see.the route took us a family of 4 kids 8 and under a couple of hours but it was lovely. There's shady points to rest. If you've got young kids you've gotta keep an eye on them as there are some steep and dangerous parts. A stroller won't do as it can be up and down. A great place though!

Gorgeous views make this one of the most popular trails at Bryce and it's easy to see why. I came during the winter, so the part of Navajo that goes through Wall Street was closed due to ice, but the Park Ranger suggested linking up with Queen's Garden Trail, and that was a wonderful suggestion. The Hoodoos are really pretty from the road, but it's not the same as if you get down amongst them. Even though they tower above you, it's a far more intimate and personal experience to see each one of them and their weird, unique patterns. One note of caution-Navajo Trail is quite steep with several switchbacks, so if you go in the winter like I did, make sure to step carefully so you don't slip on any ice or snow.

Probably 99% of the visitors to Bryce Canyon see it form the overlooks on the top. If you go there, take the time to do at least one trail. the Navajo trail is one of the best, one of the shortest, and gives you a great sense of the Canyon. You have never seen something like this anywhere, and if you fail to take the hike - you will have missed it. What you see from within the canyon itself goes far beyond what you see from above. It's not a simple trail, but most anyone can do it. I know someone at least 100 pounds overweight with bad feet who did it and was glad he did. Someone else I know with a heart condition did it, and again, was glad he did. Both made it down and back up. Take water, and your time, but do it. You'll not be sorry.

Descended the 167m down to the canyon floor and back up again with our little one. It was a feat for us when we reached the Two Bridges. The hike was totally worthwhile to be able to see the canyon upwards and huge Douglas fir trees.

Really something special.Love the way the trail takes you right into the canyon, not too strenuous (although at altitude, so be careful when hot) & some great photo opportunities. The facilities here are very clean and plentiful.

Navajo music on the video en steep down hill surrounded by erroded needles it was the walk of the trip. The feeling was equal to the walk in Petra Jordania.

Visited Arches National Park a few years ago and it was an amazing location, but I must say I liked Bryce Canyon more. We hiked the Navajo trail down and came up the Queen's Garden trail. What a beautiful way to see the canyon. Worth doing and November was a great time to be there. It will get your heartrate up, but stop frequently to admire the views and it isn't too difficult. Don't expect to find bathroom open in the winter, but it isn't a very big park so that wasn't a problem.

This is a must do! The views are magnificent, and it's not very strenuous. I'm not a hiker and it was pretty easy for me.

The trail has an very easy descent into the canyon. However, climbing out of the canyon is a workout. Even though the hike is only 1.5 miles it is a workout. The views from inside the slot canyons was spectacular which made the hike well worth the time and effort. Highly recommend this hike. There is a fee to get in Bryce Canyon, but there is no fee to hike the Navajo trail once inside Bryce Canyon National Park.

A challenging hike but manageable even for kids. Scenery kept even our 6 and 8 year old interested. Wear real hiking boots, though, even the kids.

Absolutely awesome is the only words to describe! It is such an amazing walk. The scenery is amazing.

drop and climb around 700 feet. Very picturesque. High altitude so do not rush. Sturdy footwear required or walking boots. Can be chilly when wind is up I only had a t shirt so was a bit cold in November
