This are is a must see when staying in downtown. Just 5-15 min walk to get her depending on where you are starting. A hilly area over looking the river, with lovely small road and paths and hidden sculpture gardens, nice local coffee shops and bakeries. Just a great place to explore.

LOVED the sculpture garden (Icarus is a must see), loved the quaint bakeries & shops, & the view is spectacular! We even saw a couple get engaged. This area is a hidden gem

Tony's is the best place to eat in this area. We had to wait a while but the prices were amazing and the food was even better.

Within easy walking distance of the Tennessee Aquarium and the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge, and overlooking the beautiful Tennnessee River. There is nice outside art and two museums, the Hunter Museum of American Art and Houston Glass Museum. Don't miss the River Gallery, an extremely good art gallery. Buildings are all well restored and there are three restaurants, all excellent. A good place to spend a leisurely afternoon.

Only a few blocks from downtown and the aquarium. We always visit here when coming to the aquarium. Love to walk around and see the shops and restaurants.

You really get it all here - great food, an amazing coffee shop and a venue for special occasions. There's Tony's Italian Restaurant to dine at should you like - spectacular Italian food and a nice atmosphere. Sit outside on the balcony area if you can - nice views of downtown Chattanooga. Rembrandt's Coffee shop is here as well and has a very friendly staff that is happy to make recommendations should you not know what you want. They have a huge variety of pastries and a sandwich/soup type menu. Students from the local college - University of Tennessee at Chattanooga or UTC are usually studying here, but it's never rowdy or loud. A few people with laptops and books here or there. Sitting outside in the courtyard is always nice too. I actually had the rehearsal dinner for my wedding in the Bluff View Art District at Renaissance Commons. It's a small, intimate building with room for about 50-60 people. Beautiful wooden carvings and great food from the in-house caterers. We walked afterwards to Taco Mac (or T. Mac now) for my "bachelor" party as it was nearby. I always park on the bridge just down from Rembrandt's Coffee as it has 2 hr free parking - although you can sometimes get away with a little longer if it's not crowded.

Stumbled on the arts district while looking for coffee. A few very nice galleries with eclectic collections. Well situated next to the museum.

This is a lovely place to visit. Walker friendly. Italian restaurant Tony's and a coffee shop, Rembrandt's. Be sure to visit and sample breads at the local bread house, Bluff View Bread store. Afterwards, you can walk over to the Walnut bridge and have some ice cream! Also a nice bike ride will do the trick. Rentals available by the bridge.

Every time I get back to Chattanooga, this is on my MUST VISIT list! From the restaurants to the bakery to the coffee house, it has so much to offer, not to mention the cool walk by the river. Do not miss this!!

My husband brought me here for a New Year's treat and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We stayed at the Maclellan House Bed & Breakfast and could walk to Hunter Museum, Walnut Street Bridge, River Walk and several restaurants. CHARMING!!!

Great little places tucked away. Not a lot of traffic and easy to explore on foot. Visit Rembrandt's Coffee House and Bluff View Bakery While you are there.

Very nice - very trendy - very pricey - views are beautiful and lots of things to see - you can spend a few hours and then grab a nice lunch or dinner

The Bluff view Art district is an aptly named charming district up the bluff of Chattanooga.The houses in this district date from the late 19th-early 20th century, and now house a bed and breakfast (Bluff View Inn), a bakery, restaurants a small museum and an art gallery.We thought the area was ideal for a stay in Chattanooga, as it was in walking distance from the Hunter Museum of American Art, Ross' landing and the Tennesee aquarium.As the name states, you have a nice view of the river from the bluff.

Fantastic view of the city and a bunch of cute little restaurants. We had our Thanksgiving brunch at the Back Inn Cafe again and left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
