My husband and I were camping in Moraine Park, so we choose Moraine Stables and felt we had the BEST experience possible. Chris was our guide and we ended up being the only two on the trail ride. Chris was awesome! He took lots of pics for us, and had so much knowledge to share about the mountain, the trees and flowers, and history! I really felt we had this personalized tour. Would absolutely return, and highly recommend Chris. We rode August 20 on Oreo and Lollipop.

We (family of four) had a 3 hours trip up the mountains. For us, this was our first outdoor horse ride. Our guide Morgan made sure that we were comfortable and explained very well what to expect during the trip.

My family includes myself (experience rider), my husband (never ridden) and two children ages 9 and 5 that have never ridden. We had the best experience I could have asked for when introducing them to trail rides. We were greeted cheerfully and the ranch hands truly made us feel like we were the most important thing related to safety, comfort and fun. Our guide was Erin and she promptly introduced herself to each of us and made sure she knew our names before heading out on the ride. The day we were there was quite busy, but all the ranch hands worked together to get each group up in the saddle to keep things moving on time. Lots of laughing, smiling and joking with the riders that were waiting for their group to leave.During the ride, Erin was competent in checking our safety multiple times and was able to provide insight about Rocky Mountain National Park that we had not learned from other tours or hikes we had completed earlier in the week. The kids had no problem controlling the horses and Erin continued to provide guidance on how they could hone their skills in commanding the horses. Our 5 year old got very good at making sure he horse wouldn't sneak a snack along the trail!I will absolutely register to ride with Sombrero Ranch if we get the chance to get back to the Estes Park area and would recommend it to anyone looking for a guided trail ride.

My wife and two adult kids and I took a 3 hour ride from Migraine Park Stables that included Cub Lake and the Big Thompson river. It was explained to us that it was a more difficult ride but one of the more scenic rides so we decided to do it. Our guide was Morgan and she was excellent in explaining all the situations coming up and how to handle them. The trail was rocky and steep in places but in reality the horses were the one well able to handle the trails they travel every day. We just had to stay out of there way. As promised the views were breathtaking. And being on a horse..makes me wish I was a cowboy! We will for sure do this again!

We have been to Estes Park numerous times, but this was our first horseback riding experience inside the park. It was awesome! What a wonderful way to see all the beauty Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer. Our family's age ranges from 8-43 yrs old and everyone agreed it was tons of fun. Our guide, Erin, was knowledgable and friendly, making our 2 hour riding experience thoroughly enjoyable. It is my understanding that Sombrero is the only ranch in Estes that rides inside the park, and for that reason I would definitely recommend Sombrero to others. The ranchers matched each family member to a horse and constantly monitored our riding, making us all feel safe and enjoy our ride. This is definitely a must for anyone visiting Estes Park.

My son wanted to go horseback riding, but we didn't want it to take away from our other activities we had planned as a family so we decided to go on a Monday at 8am. Our guide was Erin, our ride was just the 3 of us, which was so in nice since we were able to ask her all of our questions about the horses and the area. She was very attentive to us, when my son's saddle was slipping around she adjusted it, when my stirrups need to be shorten she was happy to help. She was a wonderful guide and we had a wonderful trip, even if it was mainly through the meadow.

This was an excellent way to see and learn about the park. We hesitated to choose the intermediate/advanced ride with a new 9 year old rider, but we decided to go ahead and try it. This route is definitely recommended, as it is very adventurous and fun. Chris did an AMAZING job guiding us.

We had a great time on our scenic two hour tour. Our guide, Chris, was funny, friendly and informative. He was great with our six year old. We came within ten feet of a Mike deer and a whole herd of elk. We highly recommend this ride for families.

My family and I decided to take it easy on our tired feet, and see more of the Rocky Mountains by horseback. With little to no riding experience, we set out on a 3 hour trail ride around Beaver Meadows. The trail guides were great! They were informative, and helpful, and quickly put us at ease. The views of the mountains and local plants/animals were breathtaking! Be sure to bring a camera and extra batteries, as well as a hat. Ask for a saddle bag to keep your camera handy for all those pictures you'll want to take- much easier than getting it out of a fanny pack! Our trail guides quickly made us feel like family, and made our ride an event to remember!

I took 8 Boy Scouts and 4 Scouters on a two hour ride through the Rocky Mountain National Park. In addition to having a great experience for their summer camp, the Scouts were able to complete the requirements for the Horsemanship merit badge with the help of the wranglers assigned to our group. For new riders, take the two hour ride since that is about the right time for your first time in the saddle.

We had the best time riding there. Everyone is very friendly and informative and the rides are just awesome with the best views I've ever seen.

I'd recommend Hi-Country Stables for their professionalism and friendliness. We had our 9 1/2 and 6 year grandchildren on a 2 hour ride and they loved it - highlight of their trip to Colorado!

We had a wonderful guide (Erin) that kept the ride interesting and informative. The horses were manageable and fun.

Took the three hour ride...great views and wildlife ( even saw a Moose!). The stables were nice and close to the best area of RMNP and parking was surprisingly easy.
