Vail has done an excellent job with the gardens. So many flowers and well planned out. Easy to get to. Great fun for everyone

What a gem awaited us when we happened upon this outdoor treasure. Somehow, I wasn't expecting a beautiful, natural style garden that greeted us in Vail (summertime.). The plants were well tended and beautiful, and the serene atmosphere was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the downtown tourist area.Tip #1 take your time, it is not.a huge place.Tip #2 donations excepted

I was fortunate to volunteer this past summer to help tend the gardens by planting annuals and being available to do whatever the head gardener required. If you find yourself in Colorado, Betty Ford Gardens in Vail Village is a must visit. Every year the gardens are expanded; there are different varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees to admire. The pathway takes you up to different levels by stairways. Waterfalls and small ponds greet you. The gardens are located next to the Ford music arena. So one could spend time wandering through the gardens and then enjoy the symphonies and dances throughout the summer.

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul... This is a place where you can go, that you can feel safe and look inside yourself and discover yourself...

Every time I have gone snowshoeing here I have felt like I was the only person in the world. Very peaceful and beautiful. Wish it was larger!

Do not miss these glorious gardens. So many lovely flowers and water features. Very peacuful and surrounded by the glory of the Gore Range.

Very impressive rock garden and playground. If you're in need of a place for an amazing photo shoot, stop by. We were there in late October and it was nice, but I can imagine that in the summer the foliage and flowers would make the place even more beautiful.

We walked the entire garden, and while it was a nice experience on a beautiful fall day, there was very little vegetation to view in October. I can see that a summer trip would give an abundance of flowers and a real feel for the different types of alpine ecosystems.

A wonderful garden. A walking path through several areas of flora. Water features and wonderful plantings. Good parking and a great walk.

You can walk to it via a well kept river trail from many rental homes and hotel rooms. Well designed and maintained with good selection of alpine plants.

It has a very nice variety of plants and trees. Donations accepted. the gardens reflect the ecosystems of the Rocky Mountains. I think it is worth a look. Our GPS had the wrong address, it took us downtown. The garden is part of a large park along highway 70.

We had no idea what we would find on our hike around Vail. When we stumbled upon the garden, from the outside it looked ordinary, but low and behold we were in love with the variety of plants, flowers and landscaping. The volunteers have done such beautiful work on maintaining it, educating visitors and trying to engage us to come back and help. We surely made a donation. The meditation area was my favorite by the waterfall.

I had read somewhere this is the world's highest elevation botanical garden. Over the years, we have visited some very interesting and unique gardens. Each has had it's distinct personality depending on the region or country we were visiting. On a week and a half road trip through Colorado this past summer, we decided this garden warranted a few hours of our time. We are very happy we made the decision to explore this beautiful place. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. The beauty and serenity we experienced here will not soon be forgotten. The attention to detail was amazing: the meandering paths, loads of greenery and plants, sculptures, streams, covered bridges, the multitude of places to sit and contemplate the wonder of it all. There were always new and beautiful things to see around every corner. Alot of bird activity here also! Definitely an attraction worth seeing at least once! Admission is FREE! Can't say that about too many things in Vail. My compliments to the landscapers who keep this magical place looking so lush and beautiful!

I definitely plan on visiting the gardens again, in season to see the hundreds of species that were planted. By October the frost had already hit and there were not many flowers in bloom. I enjoyed the fall colors and meandering paths. Very peaceful.
