Great park on Lake Ontario. You get camping, the lake, and year-round activities. You also can rent the lighthouse for your visit. This is a well-cared-for and pleasant park. Laurie and I visited after lunch on this raw winter day and plan to return later this winter for the activities.

Wow, what a place! We camped here in a pop-up with a gorgeous view of the lake. Only 45 minutes east from Niagara Falls. The park is nicely maintained with nice and clean showers and facilities, actually one of them is new. The lighthouse is nice too, make sure you take a trip up!

I like visiting lighthouses. The Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse is located here in Golden State Park. It's open for climbing April 30 - Columbus Day 7 days a week. You can tour the first floor of the lighthouse. The climbing is a small fee. There are other out buildings to see. One has a collection of historical information. Right across from the lighthouse is a modern bathroom. There are even showers since you can camp at the park. There is also a playground. My kids loved running off some energy. They're not so big on touring lighthouses so it gave them something to do. You can rent the second floor of the lighthouse. Not much for souvenirs.

We camped in the A loop camping area for 4 nights. We walked the grounds and trails of the State Park. Loved the 30 Mile lighthouse tour. Beautiful views and friendly workers. They helped us quickly and politely with a dead battery and got us on our way quickly and professionally.

We dropped into this sight today to recon a potential camp sight. Very disappointed as this State Park is almost exclusively dedicated to motor homes & self contained campers & not "tent" campers :-(

We chose to camp here, and even with being drowned by a passing storm, we still have no regrets. The spot we chose was RIGHT on the cliff of the lake, and right beside the lighthouse (site 29)We heard the waves crash all evening, saw the light flash on the lighthouse...it was unique, beautiful, so very restful. The bathrooms were just across the drive, REALLY nice and clean facilities....there is a playground, plenty of paths to wander...a little hidden fishing dock,...its everything you need to get away...They have firepits and bbq grills plus picnic tables at each site..The lighthouse is open but only from 2-4pm, which sadly, we were never there at that time...there is a gift shop at the check in station but, oddly, they werent ever open either! They are constantly maintaining the property mowing, cleaning the bathrooms, handling the trash...it is a very clean, quiet, and safe feeling place to rest your head and,.. within a hour from so many places...Buffalo, Niagara...The sun rises and sun sets over the lake are to die for....I truly cant say enough about this place....next time we hope to spend more time on site to enjoy the wonder of it all

If you're looking for a big beach, rowdy nightlife, or Olympic pool laps, this is NOT your stop. BUT if you'd like a quiet beautiful spot to camp lakeside and enjoy some rest and relaxation, this IS your place. Basic amenities for a NYS Campground with the newest nicest showerhouse and bathrooms this side of the Marriott. No WiFi, limited cell coverage, and no food service means you come here to chill and take care of yourself. Tables, fire rings, and water spouts abound, and the view of the lake is great! Best part is the Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse sitting in middle, with its light flashing all night, tours for $1 available - see Barb inside. A very nice place without the crowds or other crud. And don't forget to go lakeside for the sunset - one of the best spots in the east for clear sunsets over the water!

Golden Hill state Park is a small out-of-the-way park. It's main attraction is the Thirty Mile Point Light House and the incredible sunsets over Lake Ontario. Campers take chairs to the shore to watch. The park has the usual hiking, boating, etc., but no food services. There are some activities oiffered but never when we were there.
