Park Slope Quarter in Brooklyn with the beautiful old Brownstones is typical Bohemian & family NY with liberal ideas & attention for environment, bicycles, etc … also becoming expensive, but a very great & secure place for living in NY!!! A lot of things change the last 10 years! Prospect Park is the green oasis of the Quarter!

The shopping isn't terrific in Park Slope but the vibe is interesting and comfortable. Lots of families with kids and a comfortable pace. The many streets filled with beautiful brownstones were the highlight of this walk. We ate a good lunch and enjoyed a few hours in this area.

Watch little league games in the summer or go ice skating during the winter. Tour the Old Stone House for some interesting history. Have some authentic italian entrees at the quaint corner establishment of A Di La.

Lots of great places to eat. Anything you are hungry for, you'll probably find there. I'm a big fan of Bagota. Always crowded. Great Latin food! Can be hard to find parking. Take public transportation.

I lived in Park Slope for over 7 years, I now live in NC. I would never have moved, but sometimes one is duty bound. I love the quality of the people...very creative and if I must say it...INTELLIGENT. It's a part of NY without being too busy and too crowded. You get to know the proprietors over time and you can find the best pizza at Joe's and the best fried chicken at Princess Pizza. Everything is so convenient...bank, post office, churches, grocery stores, gyms, drug stores...you name it and it is within walking distance, which is another highlight. Once can get extra exercise just walking to the store and back without feeling like a big work out is necessary. All in all, I would say that Park Slope is the most favorable neighborhood that I ever lived in. I still have friends there and always stop for a visit when I am in town.

My parents made two best decisions in life - to live in Park Slope, Brooklyn and - have me! "The Slope" - upper-middle class integrated place, very convenient public transportation into NYC, across from a HUGE park with lake/forest/hills/zoo & ball grounds.. and safe for kids to play with nearby GOOD schools.. it was everything Jacob Riis said children should have available to start a good life in America. And he was right.Thank U Slope!

Get off the G line at 7th Ave and walk to the park, huge park with a nice wide walk and many opportunities to see typical brownstones, many restaurants and shops on 7th.

Yes, it is where NY'ers go to propagate. But don't let a few thousand strollers get in your way. 5th Ave highlights as follows.Café Martin: 5th Av btwn 4th/5th: Morning coffee served properly by MartinL'Albero dei Gelati: a few doors down from Martin's: Hidden jewel for lunch and gelato.Culture: 5th Ave btwn 3rd/4th: Yogurt the way it is supposed to be.Old Stone House: Across the street from Culture: Go inside to see a model of the Battle of Brooklyn. Good Soccer/Frisbee/Softball field.Juventino: 5th Ave btwn 5th/6th: Good farm-fresh cooking. Avoid crowded brunches.Benchmark: Just off 5th Ave @339 2nd Street: Great steaks.

Park Slope is huge and vibrant. Everyone is there--all walks of life, all ages! I've walked there for hours and not retraced my steps. It's wonderful to see everyone out and about and doing whatever they enjoy from riding bikes to pushing strollers to roller skating to playing soccer. In my perfect world, I would live around the corner from Park Slope so I could use it every day!

You can do a lot worse than while away an afternoon strolling Park Slope - 5th and 7th avenues are full of interesting shops and cafes, beautiful brownstones in the surrounding streets. So close to Prospect Park too.

This neighborhood close to the Barclay center is filled with interesting shops, bars, and restaurants. It's where many of the young professionals have moved from manhattan.

Really enjoyed walking the neighborhood. Beautiful brownstone homes, diverse types of ethnic stores, restaurants. Friendly, safe area
