If you want to understand Maine without having to ask a single question go to Nubble Light, park your car and just gaze across the crashing surf at the island and LightHouse. Consider that a family with children lived there when I was younger and their clothes hung out to dry on the line. Maine is rugged, untamed and beautiful and so is Nubble Light. MUST see!

Beautiful setting. Wonderful photo opportunity with the lighthouse in the background and waves crashing against the rocks. Lobster boats, people fishing and a great little gift shop.

Although we visited off season, this is a wonderful view of the coastline and light house. This is a great place for a picnic on a summer's day. Bring your camera, it's a shot you don't want to miss.

Cape Neddick Nibble Lighthouse is one of the most photographed and most beautiful lighthouses in Maine. It has a regal look and it magically changes as the sun rises and slowly moves toward setting time. There is a great gift shop as well as places to perch and take in all the beauty of the lighthouse, the complex, and of course the beautiful ocean, the birds, the boats, and the seals. A treat for young and old alike...Nubble Light hosts weddings as well as tour buses...the perfect Maine setting for gallant occasions as well as just relaxing and taking in the beauty of the lighthouse and its surroundings. Listen to the crashing waves...photograph the scenery as well as your friends and family...a lovely way to spend the day in York, Maine.

It is beautiful to see Nubble Lighthouse lit for the holidays! Usually the lights go up in November and stay until late January!

Thankfully we were able to visit this amazing place in Fall! Oh my! So beautiful. The lighthouse was serene and the first day was super cloudy and you couldn't see much, but the 2nd day was clear with a few bright white cumulus clouds. The surrounding town is a beautiful drive and it seemed like everything is so close together. But perhaps the view of the brightly colored leaves was so fascinating it didn't matter.

Have to visit the "Nubble" and see the lighthouse. Gorgeous vistas and stunning views! Pack a picnic lunch or a snack and watch the waves crashing on the rocks.Very popular area for scuba diving.Ice cream also available at Fox's or nearby Brown's Ice Cream.Notice the pulley that connects the mainland with the Nubble. Legend has it that one of former lighthouse keeper's son used to be transported from the lighthouse to the mainland for school using this.

This is a very special place with wonderful views. There us also a nice store, snack area and benches. It is convenient and easily accessible.

Picturesque lighthouse out on an island. When you conjure a picture in your mind about what a new england lighthouse looks like, you are more than likely thinking of the nubble. I think it looks the most beautiful in the winter with snow and the wreath on the red shed.

I grew up in Maine, and was actually born about five miles from this lighthouse. I've lived in five different areas of the U.S. and travelled through more than 30 states. I've seen lighthouses in four different states, but Cape Neddick, or Nubble Light as it's more commonly known is by far my favorite. Nothing compares to it. I've seen Nubble on calendars while living in California, on old time placemats in New Mexico gift shops, in photography shops in the Pacific Northwest, on kitchen towels and aprons in Florida, and as a security pass phrase photo on the Internet. It's one of the most widely photographed lighthouses in the world. You can't tour the island on which Nubble sits, but the view at any time of the year is worth it. Don't miss it, if you're anywhere within 200 miles of it, and wonder if it's worth the trip!

Amazing place to take pictures of the ocean and the light house. In the summer this is a great place to go out from with a kayak or go diving.

It really is like a postcard, we took pictures and posted a couple on Facebook and everyone thought it was a postcard. We went in January, with a little snow and ice which really enhanced the photos. Also as you might expect not many people around.

Great place for ocean views and photography. If expecting to find activities such as tour of the light house (which is on an island) or hiking you might be disappointed. Nice place to 'chillax' with your lunch or a book when weather is warm.

We visited in January when it was 12 degrees outside ... and we loved every minute of it! This is a must-see on the east coast of the U.S.

We went in December so it was very chilly outside. Beautiful views, like a postcard. Will visit again in the summer, when the town is more alive
