Kaitilin, Thanks for staying with us. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I want you to know I keep a record of comments and make request according to what visitors like and/or don’t like so your opinion does matter to me. I often hear great things about the cabins, camping, cleanliness, and grounds but not everyone gives us insight as to what would make their stay better. I especially appreciate the comments on how we can improve. The wifi in the cabins is used often and I often hear that people want at the VIC and the Campground as well. At first I was more old fashion and thought people should leave the connectivity at home and use the park as a break from the internet, cell phones, and digital world. However, I have since become persuaded that it is a part of most people’s lives these days. Most people desire to remain connected wherever they go and some must because their jobs require it, even on vacation. I have been told that Arkansas State Parks is looking into the possibilities of having more hot spots in campgrounds and visitor centers throughout the state. Your comment helps me show that people want it here as well. Thanks and I hope you will come back again. In the meantime, I will pass your kind words on to the staff who made your stay enjoyable and use your comment to help justify improvements for the future. Park Superintendent, Paul Butler

I have visited over half of the state parks in Arkansas, and this is one of my favorites. It is a small quiet park that is full of charm. We enjoyed the interpreter activities immensely. The boat ride among the cypress trees was both interesting and breathtaking. The cabins are pricey, but they are newer and some of the nicest I've seen. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again soon.

I grew up in El Dorado and a big treat for us was to go to Moro Bay and cross the river by ferry to reach the park. The ferry is no longer in service as you can access the park by highway now. But the ferry is on exhibit and is very interesting especially for the kids. There are canoe rentals, a marina, pretty picnic area and of course the gorgeous cabins. You can fish off the bank, bait is available to purchase. We often drive over for the afternoon from El Dorado to walk the trails and picnic. It's nice.

I'm giving a mixed review based upon a couple of experiences so far. The first visit, a friend and I rented a cabin and we had the entire place to ourselves. It was lovely, peaceful and beautiful. The second visit, our family camped and kayaked the bay. Upon arrival, our campsite was occupied by a vehicle. The owner was boating on the river. A minor aggravation, but we were able to occupy another site. Our family set up camp and proceeded to kayak the bay. There is a no wake zone, and the rules are clearly marked, however, the boaters do not adhere to this policy and our child was capsized about 3/8 of mile into the float trip. Fortunately, all turned out well, but it was frightening for the child until we could get her out of harm's way. So, boo for the local boaters, but the play grounds are wonderful and the trail is nice. A good place to let kids play, but use caution while boating.

We have visited Moro Bay State Park by boat several times from Monroe, Louisiana. The 100 mile trip by boat up the beautiful Ouachita river is great in the fall with lots of sandy beaches to stop and rest and picnic. Going through the lock and dam system of the river is a great experience!

My husband and I took our kids this past weekend. They had a blast!! Very affordable. Cabins were so nice. Clean/Neat. It was a nice and quiet weekend get away. No over crowding! That is a plus. This is the first time I have gone to a park that was so quiet!!!

We spent last Easter weekend at Moro Bay State Park. We were blown away by the two cabins we rented. They were each two-bedrooms with a living-dining space and a screened porch with table and chairs. I'm a little leery about placing this review on a public site because the local folks may have trouble renting them when others discover them.We took a tour of the river with a park ranger who handled the boat and told us about the area. There isn't much else to do there and it is in the middle of no where, but we had fun playing games, cooking out and being family.

My wife, two boys and I stayed from March 11 through March 16 in RV spot number 10. This spot is the biggest spot, and in my opinion, the best spot in the park. But after looking at all of them, they are all great spots. All sites are paved and level. The rest of the spot is gravel. Each spot has a campfire pit, a picnic table, and a pole to hang your lantern on. Our site looked over the peaceful Ouachita River. What a beautiful sight! Each site is equipped with electricity and water. They have a really nice bathroom with great showers, all centrally located. They also have a playground for th kids, a volleyball court and a horseshoe pit. The they have a park store with wonderful people working it. We rented a motorboat for a day at reasonable prices. All in all, a great park! I highly recommend it!

Great get away in south Arkansas on Ouachita river. Good fishing and beautiful sand bars for laying in the sun.

If you're looking for an enjoyable get-a-way in a small quiet area, this is the perfect state park. Since I'm not a "camper", I stayed in the cabins. They were amazing. Spacious, clean and well-furnished. The grounds were beautifully maintained and clean. Woke up each morning to the sounds of birds chirping, woodpeckers, ducks, cranes and squirrels. Enjoyed breakfast with a spectacular view facing the bay on the screened porch. The staff at the state park were so very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a quiet, relaxing place to unwind for a few days. I certainly found it. The Moro Bay cabins were just that. My stay was wonderful. I didn't want to leave!
