I used the library to print my boarding pass for our trip home. I did not catch the librarian's name; however, she was more than helpful and even gave me a little history on the library. She was one of the kindest people I met on the Island. I am glad I took the time to stop in, I left with an appreciation for the people of Culebra and their hard work!

My husband and I are managing a little villa business on the island for four months. We are delighted and thrilled to have the library as a resource. Right now we are looking at aBird Book of Puerto Rica. Visiting the library is something we look forward to weekly. We are very impressed with the commitment of the volunteers and hope we can contribute many books we've read during our stay to the library.

I was dismayed to see Yinzer13's review. "A little disappointing"; what could possibly be disappointing about a small local library which was built by volunteers who didn't receive any money or tax breaks for their hard work?If the US government put this library in place, I'd be disappointed in the government; I'd want them to provide more for the people of this lovely island. As it is, this library is a great resource that I have frequently seen locals using to print off resumes & school work, and I think it is an invaluable resource to the people of Culebra. They were kind enough to let my wife and I take out a few books despite being travelers with no local address. The library has grown on a yearly basis, despite not being a 401c, and not receiving any money at all from the government. They provide movies, wi-fi, a quiet place to sit, free books, a community room where people sew and make personal connections, and a much-needed printer & computer room on a tiny island with neither internet cafes nor print shops.Ultimately, this is a completely free resource being provided by hard-working and kind volunteers. If you are disappointed in it, you are doing something wrong. It costs nothing to come here, and the staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and incredibly friendly and warm. Definitely pay this library a visit, make a contribution, and maybe even ask them if you can buy any books or other materials for them when you visit. If you want to help out, you can send them money or books, the address is PO Box 840, Culebra, PR 00775. The library prefers 'beach reads', but they love having ecological and modern science books (Bill Bryson, Michael Pollan, etc). If you want to send books, call them and check on what they may need--best is money. If you want to post an entitled, whiny review, like our friend Cinzer, just don't. The hard-working volunteers don't need your scorn or criticism. Economically, this is a very poor island, and it is really classist and rude to be so judgmental about the hard work of people who have very little and are looking to share and help educate one another.

If you walk over the drawbridge and go towards Colmado Milka, you'll see a little road up ahead on the left that takes you to El Eden Restaurant If you walk up that road, to the left you'll see a trailer under a larger roof with some tables and chairs under it. This is the library! With today's technology, it really doesn't make sense to maintain it othrr than having students come on a littke field trip to learn how to find stuff using the Dewey decimal system. By the way, since Dewey is the name of the Pueblo on Culebra, wouldn't that be a great entree into talking students there?

The library was cute had lots of available books to read even some free books out on the front porch there is also a yoga deck with yoga classes are held, all are welcome. The people at the library and all of Culebra are very nice people. The library also offers Internet. The Culebra Cinema is also attached we can watch movies just like in a movie theater. Some in Spanish and some in English but all have subtitles.

Culebra is great, but there are not too many places to keep in touch with the outside world. The Library was almost the perfect spot. The people we met were extremely friendly and accommodating. They have Desktops which you can use, or simple log on to Wi-Fi with your own hand held device. The service is Free but they do ask you to consider a small contribution, in order for them to keep the service going. Personally I had no problem dropping a few dollars, because I appreciate having somewhere to go, to keep connected. Thanks to the People who keep it going.

This little library is so cute! It has a tiny movie theater with theater seating and plays new releases--for about $3-4pp. Also, has computers/ wifi/ and printers..not to mention all sorts of different reading materials. Also has a sewing room. The librarian is very nice and helpful. Went there to print out a contract for our next lodging-great resource on the island!!

What an amazing little library, down the same street as El Eden Restaurant. The Culebra Community Library is more than books -- it's the community center for so many activities -- school plays, fundraisers, vet clinics, Spanish classes, well-chosen movies played at the little 26-seat cinema, Green Mountain coffee, and WiFi, inside and out! And, what is so incredible about this busy little junction, is that almost 99.9% of everything you see has been donated. Stop by, meet the staff, check out a book, and consider making a donation to this vital service for the island's community.

Still expanding this wee library has a helpful, friendly staff. They offer different programs such as readings, game nights & movie nights. Free Wi-fi during certain hours is available. It's covered area allows one to sit outside and read or serf the web even when it's rainning! ;-)

An awesome addition to an great island. I love how the island is growing in ways that respect its history and culture.

Nice selection of books. We borrowed a DVD about the history of Culebra which was very interesting. Movies are shown on Tuesday and Friday evenings, inexpensive and fun!

CPL is the meeting place for all who live and visit Culebra. It is more than just a library. It is THE GO TO PLACE. Besides the books, it has a wealth of information ...from what's happening on the island to a networking for any and all needs.

The Culebra Community Library is a real oasis in the modern day world of corporate organizations and big business. This little library was created with love and community effort. The selection of books is first-rate, as people passing through and on island donate some of their good reads. Lori Novis has filled the children's room with wonderful kids' books through her grantwriting skill and effort. Claire Fallon, Culebra's very own yoga maestra, is in charge of the little movie theatre, and she selects films based on a theme each month. Seeing a movie in a theatre the size of a shoebox (it is housed in a donated trailer) is simply one of the 'most fun' things you can ever do. I loved watching a Pedro Almodavar classic with friends in this tiny, quirky 'movie house'.This library has made such a difference in the life of Culebra, for residents and for those just passing through. You will enjoy the friendly, bilingual staff, and meet other nice and interesting people, when you visit.. The porch (with free Wi-fi!) is a nifty hang out spot, and provides a bit of shade from the tropical sun. You can browse through the free books, or check out the books for loan in air conditioned comfort in the library itself.

Culebra library is an amazing place where you can find books, get online, watch the latest movie in the cute little movie with red velvet chairs, saw your torn pants or sails on a miracle-working sewing machine, do yoga, see a theatrical performance, meet the book club members, attend a local dog welfare fundraising party, see and buy art of local artist, enjoy carpet stretch time with your kinds, find multi lingual books..I am sure I have forgotten something...Delightful place to visit and spend time at..It is what libraries are meant to be-the whole world..
