A very beautiful waterfall in the northern range. It is an easy hike uphill for about one half mile. it is really a little retreat from the bustle of life

The waterfall itself was nice, but the journey getting there was obviously not worth it. It started by having the taxi driver park in a stranger's yard. After we parked, was when the real "fun" began. The (roughly) 2-mile trek began with a very long stretch of mud. The sandals I was wearing (the tour guide "recommended" that I wear sandals. Big mistake.) would keep getting stuck in the mud where my foot would just slip out and the sandal with stay in the mud. We finally reached the river. We began walking along the edge of the river on extremely slippery rocks with very little room for maneuvering. Following, we had to cross through about 3-4 feet of water multiple times, and to top it all off, had to climb up an even slipperier hill that was practically all mud and had only enough room for one person; if you even mis-steped slightly, you fell about 10-15 feet. Once we finally made it the waterfall (somehow), I had to maneuver around the edges of the waterfall on very sharp rocks in order to get to the the shallow end of the waterfall. Do NOT go right into the middle of the waterfall, as the water is at least 8 or 9 ft deep and the water pressure will crush you.

This is a beautiful site, a cold cold bathe but the view is breath taking. If you hike to the site it would be worth it at the end.

Our guide Jerome was a mine of information, not only that he was patient with our two young guests (7 & 11 years) answering all their questions and pointing out more things they should be interested in from ants and small fruit to trees and shrubs. The walk up to the falls is fairly short but with all the stops to examine termites nests etc took us just under an hour.It being the rainy season the falls were at their best, kids and adults changed into swimming gear and experienced an amazing massage. Then having dried and changed we walked back down and detoured to a series of jacuzzi sized swimming pools and spent another hour or more clambering up and down between the pools until everyone was thoroughly chilled. A great way to spend a morning or an afternoon for kids and adults alike.

Should be in some condition to do this hike. Certain parts are demanding especially as one makes the ascent at the beginning, there after it is smooth sailing and the reward is arriving at the Falls to refresh oneself in the cool waters. Can't remember when I did this, but at that time it was completed a few times in 45 minutes each time.

We hired a driver for the day who took us to the base of the waterfall and linked us up with a local who took us on the hike up to the falls. You should be in reasonable shape to take this trek. We went off the beaten path a few times (the plus to going with a local) and the hike got pretty intense (loved it). I believe he only charged $10 but we paid $20 because he was a great guide. We went into the water (chilly, but refreshing after the hike) at various spots - our tour guide was so gracious to take pictures of us :) Definitely worth checking out if you are the outdoorsy type.

Clear waters that is what you will find when you take the little hike to this waterfall, and it is icy cold, I lost my voice a year since I couldn't stay out of the water - lol

Great beach for swimming, water is nice but a bit cold . it's loaded with lots of sun fun but limited palm trees ! Vendors have copious amounts of beach chairs and food for sale but their is little shade for such a large expanse of beach. The water is a bit cold with giant waves great for surfing. I love this beach although it is a bit out of way and you must have a car to get there! Overall I would highly recommend this beach!!!

Going here out of Port of Spain (POS) was absolutely beautiful riding through the mountains. If you take public transportation up there and don't intend to stay overnight, be sure to leave early enough by 3:30pm or 4pm coming back to POS or you might find yourself staying all night on the beach. We didn't follow Anna's advice about what time to leave and nearly got stuck. However, some good Trini's recognized our distress and gave us a ride back to POS. It REALLY GETS DARK.

If you are not in shape I wouldn't recommend. I am not in shape. I'll do a couple of "Walk for a Cure" walks throughout the year, but this is nothing to compare that to. We walked for what seemed like 2 hrs (actually 40-50 mins). It was slippery and hot and I was miserable. At the end of the hike, the waterfall was not what I was hoping. I guess it just wasn't the season. The waterfall wasn't a big gushing burst of amazingness. Nevertheless, it was my first waterfall and it was still beautiful.

A pretty waterfall; in dry season it may be pretty small so don't expect water like Niagara...it's a stream falling down the rocks.

A wonderful hike through a tropical rain forest, fresh air, and then you come into a glade with a spectacular waterfall and just a beautiful view. Worth a half day out....and my only disappointment is the amount of garbage my fellow Trinis leave behind at such a wonderful place!
