All numerous artifacts are between 400 years old and unique for any Caribbean Island. The background information is very informative. The presentations about the West India Company, about the relation between the Netherlands and the Caribbean since 1600 are professional also.

The Dutch Museum is a must see on Saba Island. Located on Park Ln., Windwardside. The museum is in a lovely cottage filled with interesting pieces from furniture, lace, tiles, books, cookware & pictures. Film documentaries about the islands are available. The owner Rene is very knowledgeable about the Dutch history. The grounds around the museum are so beautiful it is a nice way to see a typical saban cattage. You will be glad you stopped by and you will go away knowing a lot more. There is something interesting for all ages to see in the museum.

While you enjoy the artifacts at the Museum, the highlight is the film presentation of the Dutch influence in the West Indies, as presented by Rene the Museum curator, going back to the colonization of the West Indies up through the American Revolution. Rene is a wealth of information on Dutch colonization and evolution of the Caribbean West Indies.
