One cannot help but to stop and check this out. Nice touch and wonderfully painted. Will come back in the summer and walk down Yonge Street which looks very cool with tidy shops and cafes.
I enjoy looking at this mural at the corner of wellington and yonge. I frequently look at it when stopped at the red light. I try to learn something and retain it when I look at the mural. I like the variety of moments represented.
While it's nice to have something that recognizes the achievements of Canadian's that we should all know it is in the wrong place. No one who drives through the Yonge/Wellington intersection in Aurora has anything nice to say about the congestion, left turning vehicles, curb side parking etc. You can't not see the mural and because traffic moves so slowly you can probably read most all of it too. It is an otherwise nice touch to two ordinary corner banks and an old building opposite the busy intersection. Should have been put in a public park type setting where school children can go and visit and learn without fear of being run over.
If you've ever had the misfortune of getting stuck in rush hour traffic at Yonge & Wellington in Aurora you've likely noticed this colourful and very informative piece of public art. While you can get a quick glimpse from the road I would highly recommend parking and checking it out up close. Its interesting of course for highlighting numerous famous and influential Canadians; politicians, artists, inventors, even astronauts. I also really love the colors and composition of it. Would love to see more public artwork like this.
