Fresh water beach? Wasaga beach is the answer. Clean and nice . you can go for a long walk...the beach is really long.It is beautiful. Perfect place to spend the day.

This beach park changes with the weather, being beautiful in the calm weather and beautiful in windy weather, all seasons. I have tried all the beaches, from beach 1 through 6 and I feel the best bet is usually beach 1, beach 2 and beach 6 (even though 6 is a bit rockier and has grasses growing in front of the cottages/homes). Occasionally the other beaches have a mucky residue depending on the wind as Wasaga Beach is the southern portion of Georgian Bay. Beaches are cleaned each night and/or early each morning, so chances are, y ou'll have a good experience.

Been dipping my toes in these waters for 50 years, clean, great for young families as the water depth slowly and gradually deepens, takes a while. 15 km's of white sand, natural fresh Great Lakes (Lake Huron) water, largest inland beach in the world.

The nine and a half miles of natural beach shore is some of the most natural and beautiful I've ever seen. We have come to this area for 32 yrs. Every year it changes but the beach is one you can still walk on. I love the serenity. This year they even had a section for dogs to swim! Too cute!

Imagine a nightclub that is packed with young men and women scantily clad then welcome to Wasaga. Throw in part car show and water sports exhibition as well and you get beach area 1. A few restaurants both local and chain around. Stores that schlock typical touristy shirts and wares. There are other quiter family beaches as well a short walk to the main strip . Great sunsets and warm water too. It's a fun happy go lucky place not to far from Toronto.

I found this beach to be too busy, filled with teenagers who are rude and loud. You can rarely find a parking space and it's too expensive. The beach is too crowded. It's nice that the water is shallow and you can walk out far into the water without going over your waist. Otherwise, I find that most people there are too drunk and are driving around. I would recommend possibly not going to Wasaga but looking into beaches somewhere else if you prefer something a little less loud.

There is nothing really special about this beach except that it is the largest man made fresh water beach in the world which is large and open. The beach is shallow, sandy and warms very quickly during summers. We visited the beach during the month of Aug 2014 and it is great for swimming, walks and picnics. Not exactly a place to swim as the water is shallow all the way out but a great place to float around, relax and enjoy the weather. There are plenty of places to grab a bite or drink but since we went with our friends on a picnic we had carried food, snacks and drinks. Only thing that we missed was a tent as it was very hot that day and after going into the water, you need to sit in the shade for a while rather than get yourself roasted in the sun. There is ample of parking available right at the beach but you will have to pay the “day-use-fee” which is not bad if you intend to spend the day at the beach. Try and make your trip worthwhile by considering that there are others on the beach too so if you are looking for a good spot, go early and get the best. If you’re ok with anything like we were, then you will be satisfied with what you get.

This is just an average beach - nothing special. It's very popular in the summer, water is beautiful and tranquil but wouldn't say it's worth the expedition. The town of Wasaga itself looks like a sad cliché with streets filled with old, decapitated motels for anyone too drunk to drive home. Lots of ice cream shops and souvenirs' boutiques.

I'd qualify it as the Old Orchard beach of the north.Nice sandy beach, long shallow waters for the kids.

Wasaga Beach belong among the longest freshwater beaches in the world and it is amazing. The hot sand, quiet environment will make you want to just relax. On the way from here you might want to stop somewhere and get yummy fish and chips for lunch as you will be probably quite hungry. There is parking almost everywhere along this beach, but you have to pay a fee.

If you are a hiker or just appreciate a day at the beach, Wasaga Beach is only an hour and a half from Toronto Pearson Airport. It is only a summer resort but only a half hour from Collingwood, a four season ski resort. The sand is great for beach volleyball or kids sand castles and if you like safe water, you can walk out in shallow water for 200 yards or more. Lots of summer activities nearby including Go-carts paint ball, golf, mini-golf, sea doo rentals and of course....all the water sports.

This is a wonderful beach during any sunny summers day. Great for walks, pick-nicks and incredible for swimming and sun bathing. The beach is shallow, sandy and warms quickly; this is a great place for all ages from toddlers to seniors. Most of the organized activities and the stores are at Beach #1 and #2. That also means that Beach #1 & 2 are the most densely populated and active - knowing this helps you to decide where on the beach you want to be. For an active, young area you should head towards Beach Area 1 and for a more relaxed day at the beach, head toward Beach Areas 4 to 6, with Beach Area 5 having a very nice children's play-ground.As a full time resident of Wasaga Beach I make use of the beach at every possible opportunity, but in the last year or two I've found that the beach clean-up seems to take longer than it used to. Please try to avoid using the washrooms within the Provincial Park area, especially on weekends, as maintenance can be hit and miss.Parking is available right at the beach, but be advised most of the beach is located within a Provincial Park, so you will have to pay the "day-use fee". As a resident of Wasaga Beach, I invest in a Provincial Park pass every year, which also pays for parking at the beach. The park pass is valid at all Provincial Parks in Ontario, so you can use the pass all across Ontario. It is a wonderful beach that all ages will enjoy, but remember, you're not there alone, be considerate of others and everyone will enjoy a memorable, relaxing day at the beach.

This is the largest fresh water beach in the world. A must see.Even better... cruise by in a boat. The younger generation love the weekends.I myself, as a local, enjoy the long walk around sunset... Beautiful. The beach is very shallow and fantastic for toddlers.A teenager can run out for at least 100 yards before its waist deep.Enjoy.

Great beaches! Parking is a little ordinary... Walking distance from a lot of big stores, the boutiques on the walk sell the same things...
