Firstly, you are on the Gibb, so you know the track and the country! The camp ground is really good and the punt to cross the water hole, even better. But why not swim across, the water is beautiful. The hike to the falls is long on a hot day, but with a surname of Manning, the falls could only be FANTASTIC! No really, beautiful to swim in, even right under the falls. Pin drop from the top if you wish, or if you're young enough to know what that means? Don't rush the visit, because it's a long way back. Manning Gorge is one of the best for taking some time, a swim, a relax, and take in the Kimberley. And the Barnett River roadhouse is good for supplies as you enter or leave. Worth the effort to get there, but then we just had to go!!

We spent a very nice night at the Manning Gorge, not the Campground or the Roadhouse, just the quiet of the park and nice people in it. Must say for $ 20/person you don't get much. I guess thats to be expected after paying $ 2.50/litre for Diesel!!!!I have had a business in very remote WA and would be extremely embarrassed to charge that sort of markup. If you can, avoid, possible with long range tank!!Also there was a young french backpacker serving who managed to show their usual chirpy and happy attitude with all or her 7 words of english. Sarcasm Sheldon ;)

For the money that mount Barnett station charges people to stay at the campsite ($20 each), they should be ashamed of the woeful facilities provided. Hundreds of people are trying to use three showers and three toilets in the ladies and men's ablution blocks. You need to queue for about half an hour to have a cold trickle shower.The generator gets turned off at 7.30pm, from then on there is no lights in the toilets and you need to fill a bucket with water from a tap outside to take in with you to flush your toilet.This is the worst paid campsite we've stayed at. They should invest some of the money they are raking in on solar powered facilities and a higher water tank for gravity fed toilet systems.

Beautiful gorge definitely worth the walk however the campground is hirendous. Dusty smoky campsites way to expensive for the site. Mt barnett ownrr was rude

We arrived to manning gorge after lunch!!! Completed the walk to the gorge!!! Manning gorge was 1 of the most beautiful places I've ever been too!!! Well worth the walk!! Beautiful swimming and beach area!!! Campsites very dusty and the amenities were horrendous!!! Only a trickle of cold water flowed at 6pm in the showers!!! Not enough to even wash the body wash off ourselves!!! The next morning was shocking!!! 40- 50 females lined up to use 3 toilets n 3 showers!!!! The toilets had no toilet paper and wouldn't flush even after the generator had been on for half hr!!! There was pressure but no hot water!!! Would recommend the gorge but definitely not the campgrounds!!! Not worth the $20 per head we paid!!! After all of this we got in the car and took off to the roadhouse for a coffee!!! Although it didn't open until 8am the nice young man was kind enough to open up and make us coffee!!! When we entered the roadhouse the manage n her husband were having a go at the young guy for helping us out after our terrible night!!! My advise to you lady would be to get up an hr earlier n open the shop at 7am considering there were heaps of ppl there waiting for u guys to open!!!

We stayed for one night at the camp site ($36), and because we arrived late afternoon it was already quite full. However we drove away from the main area and managed to find a lovely, quiet spot to camp– we even saw a kangaroo peeping out of the bushes at us!We started our walk to the gorge the following morning and to get onto the trail you either have to swim across the river or use the small rowing boat that’s tied to the bank – no oars, just a rope to pull the boat across to the other side. Once on the other side theres a well-marked trail that leads you up to the gorge. It’s quite a long walk, some parts are easy going and flat and other parts are quite rocky and more difficult. We went early but it still got very hot, so remember to take plenty of water with you. We also took a small picnic with us which were glad of – as it took us a lot longer to get to the waterfall than we'd expected and we were ready for something to eat.The gorge is huge and has several pools to swim in and because it was early in the season the waterfall was impressive.

Its a longer walk than most gorges give you, and for me the reward is less. Prefer other spots like Bells, Windjana and Galvans.Nice campsite though by the water.

We left the campsite early to walk into the gorge (6am) which was good as I didn't envy the folks who were walking in as we came out - pretty hot by 9am. We swam across the river which was lovely - put your gear in the little boat and push it across. Remember to take your swimming stuff as there are some great rocks to jump off once you get into the gorge. It's quite a hard walk into this gorge, on par with Emma Gorge. Quite a lot of climbing up and down rocks. But definitely worth it. The campsite is basic but perfectly adequate. Watch out for the crows who will try to eat anything you leave lying around.

We stayed overnight at the campsite, which was fine, with a separate quiet area and lots of boabs. It's a few km from the roadhouse by the road, which offers fuel and supplies. We walked out to the gorge first thing in the morning. There's a tinnie to cross the river now, then a very long, hot walk out in the open. Be careful as you leave the boat, since there are some markers leading you off into the bush, whereas the correct markers lead you up over the rocks in front of you. The kids certainly grew sick of the walk, but when we got there it was worth it. A beautiful spot, with a flowing waterfall, even though there wasn't much water around elsewhere (poor wet season). We could have spent many hours there, but unfortunately were on a tight schedule. There was a lot of space to relax and lots of things to explore. I would recommend spending most of the day there, with a picnic. Take lots of water for that long, hot walk!

The campsite is hot and dusty but the facilities were quite adequate. The adjacent swimming hole was heaven for kids. The walk, 35 min going fast, to the waterfall was great an was rewarded by an even better swim. But try not to buy fuel there; at 2.40 per litre it was 60 cents a litre more expensive than Derby. We'll be back.

We paid $42 for two people for an unpowered site for one night. Expensive we thought, but it got worse. When we arrived at 330pm the toilets and showers were closed as they were blocked. By 5pm there were close to 100 people in the park and still no facilities. By dark there was a note on the doors and amenities locked up saying facilities not available tonight!! Why did you take our money and continue to take more money and allow more people into the camp ground? Very poor

We enjoyed Manning Gorge very much ! After Mitchell falls it was our favourite . We also found Eddie the mechanic and his lovely partner to be most helpfull . After having lost three of our leaf springs on the camper suspension we thought we would have to leave our trailer at Mt Barnett roadhouse and drive to Derby 450 km away to get parts . Thanks to Eddie who collects the fees at Manning Gorge who is also a very competent mechanic we were able to continue or journey with our camper in tow . Thank you Eddie for your generosity . Warning to all others make sure to carry good kit of tools on this road

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop - as stated it was expensive, the campground was dusty and the amenities were dirty and smelly. The waterhole was OK, a cool swim at the end of the day (next time would go in for a swim but then continue on to stay at one of the free stops instead....)

We went to this gorge on our third day on our trip of the Gibb River Road. It is a long, and fairly difficult walk to the gorge ... took us a few hours to get there, and there is a water crossing (which you can swim or take small boat across) along the way. The gorge is huge, and absolutely stunning. It is one of the bigger gorges on the gibb river road, has an amazing waterfall, and there is some beautiful wildlife to see.If you like a challenge, climb to the top of the rocks above the waterfall for some stunning scenic photos. Allow a couple of hours to spend swimming and relaxing, bring lots of water and some snacks as you will need it for the walk back.

We camped here for 2 nights. The campground was busy and the generator runs from 7am to 8pm. Outside of these hours do not have a shower or use the toilets.However it is right on the river which is a beautiful spot to swim and relax.But you must do the walk to Manning gorge as it is fabulous. The family voted it the best swimming spot on the gibb river rd
