I had about 60 paintball tickets from the xmas 2013 special. I called the hotline kept getting connected to South Africa (?), booked the day and the amount of people (around 40).I didn't mind the long drive to the place. Got there around 915 or 920. There were staff standing outside but none of them thought it would be good customer service or good manners to welcome us in or initiate any contact at all. So I went ahead and made contact and informed them that some people are running late and we will all come in together and the European lady said that is fine.We finally went in to get our gear and induction. From the onset you could see the setup was very cheap. The helmets they issued us, some were in terrible state, you couldnt even see through them! But the overalls didnt smell bad or anything nor did our helmets (except a few). There was no proper toilet, just those movable toilets used on work sites, no running water and only a water tank, no water fountain to drink anywhere, no free soapy water to clean the helmets. It was really very cheap. The staff had no communication between them, so each one of them decided to come and tell us to do something different when the actual manager or owner (not sure which one) had told us something totally different. That was very frustrating and it was all really disorganised on their part. The 'marshal' (Tristan was his name) we were given who was going to run through the induction with us had a real big attitude problem, now I am not the type of person who believes customers are always right, but some respect and good manners really wouldnt hurt if you are a staff member, ESPECIALLY since we were all being extremely polite (i was group organiser). Tristan really kind-of made a pleasant experience not so pleasant (yeah that kind-of a guy). The other marshal (who had just started working there, never got his name) was cool, he would actually start conversations with you and talk to you and didnt come off as judgemental or slightly racist at all. We played all the maps besides tomb raider and fortress. In a nutshell the maps weren't the best compared to other paintball centres around perth. They were small for the number of players we had. And again you could see the cheapness of the whole place, no creativity or finesse. The maps were very simple. Other places i have gone to over the years have had cars and airplanes/choppers, fake suburbs and set-ups but this place had none of that. Just very cheap stuff. Their speedball map was made from barrels, they had a satellite map that was just a few satelites (really they were just big conned pvc stuck in the ground) and a bush map (didnt play their tomb raider or 'fortress' map). If it wasn't for the group of friends we went with I am sure none of us would have really had as much fun as we did.70%!!! 70% of the paintballs did not pop! Which really was our dollars going down the drain. The guns sucked, they kept getting jammed right from the very beginning and the pressure of the guns wasn't enough and they wouldnt increase them (not sure if it was OH&S rules though, if so no problem). Another annoying part was we always had to walk back to base if we wanted to buy any drinks or anything, unlike action paintball or wasp they didnt have 'safe zones' immediately next to the maps. The release forms in the beginning you sign were very American and fascist, they will accept no liability for anything even if their gas cylinder blows up in your face. Everything is going to be your fault. The prices of bullets were pretty inline with other places.Overall, we all did have alot of fun, not necessary because of the place or its workers. Would we go there again? No. Probably go back to wasp or action paintball. The manager or owner (a man in his 40s) was quite nice and professional, unfortunately he didnt accompany us during the day, he was just at the base. Tristan wasn't the most pleasant person. The European lady was nice and so was the new gentleman who had just started to work there.I hope that helps.
Talk about taking your money. The amount it costs just for 100 paintballs is ludicrous and the one thing they don't tell you is how quickly it goes. You want to have fun and shoot some guys, not sit there trying to remember if you shot 42 or 43 paintballs. And this is where the fun starts, for them. And as a guy, having crotch protection surely must be a standard. I fail to understand why this is a paid extra! What also got on my nerves is the way the 'marshals' out there talked to the people. They're essentially being paid to abuse people. This isn't the army, it's about having fun and they sure as hell managed to rip that out. Quite a lot of people were first timers and were getting pushed around, having never even fired a gun before. You'd really just want to shoot these 'marshals' in the head.
My kids (teenagers 15 &16 ) had best day out with their cousins and friends unfortunately their car failed to start at their time to leave. Staff on duty bent over backwards in keeping them safe ,hydrated and calm on a really toasty 39* day ,way beyond the call of duty . ...they were due off duty hours ago. Great place, great fun if you dont mind the bruises , great service .....thankyou
