This beach is really, really lovely. Beautiful rocks, great tranquil swimming in crystalline waters. VERY RUSTIC...no umbrellas, chairs, etc. There are a few wispy pine trees that people tie things to for shade but other than that...this is a bring a towel and lots of sunscreen beach. There is a sweet white church and a wonderful taverna (Papalagi Taverna) perched overlooking the beach. At the taverna there is shade and sustenance. Want to give a heads up that this used to be a nude beach and there are still nudists but there are also families and others fully suited up so if you are uncomfortable with nudity this ain't your beach. It is not easy to get to. You have to take a 1/2 hour hike (I love it but would not do it with very young children as some narrow bits are 'yoda-lay-hee-hoo' cliffs into the rocky sea below) or take a boat from Angali beach. If the boats are not running because of the wind your only option is to hike in. If you are hiking you obviously want to travel light and with a small backpack to carry your stuff. Think hats and sunscreen and towel and bottle of water.

a little far (easier if you have a car).Best beach we went in folegandros.(no bar, restaurants, chairs or umbrellas, bring your own stuff)

This place carries stories of the first visitors of the island, true pirates and nature lovers! If you wish to connect to this spirit, take the off season ticket to Folegandros and explore the place as few have! Enchanting experience!!!

I start my review by stating that I am generally very demanding in choosing beach. Positives: beautiful, sheltered from the north wind with many trees for shade. Cons: small beach, crowded and with stones at the entrance to the water (however the sea was deep enough to swim after 2-3 meters). At this beach there are also nudists. Ι am personally familiar, but it is useful for the people to be informed in advance.

Agios Nikolaos beach is close to Agali beach. You can reach Agios Nikolaos on foot following a path from Agali or by boat from Agali. There are trees on the beach that provide shade. A large part of the beach is very shallow and is covered by a flat slippery rock. In high season Agios Nikolaos is crowded. Nudism is allowed on this beach. There is a restaurant nearby. I think that Agios Nikolaos is overrated. There are more beautiful beaches in Folagandros like Katergo and Livadaki.

Gorgeous beach that is a bit of a rocky hike from Agali - be careful if in flip flops. Not recommended to walk for those with mobility problems - take the 2 minute boat ride over. Definitely worth going to - as Americans we were amused by all the naked Europeans... especially what appeared to be a nude older man with his topless grown daughters... Rocky when wading in the water but this is typical of all most Greek beaches.

It's quite a walk from Agali to this clothes optional beach but it's worth doing at least once whilst you are on Folegandros.
