After a glass of wine, fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and a small fillet and salad, who could ask for more and their wonderful rolls were to die for, Only wish I had that recipe.
Was a little disappointed in the Thanksgiving buffet. Salad bar was nice and so were the deserts but the turkey was pre-slice in aluminum pans and not very appetizing. I would've thought they would have a carving station for the turkey and ham.
Some of the staff has been there since the first train ran through Dalton. They know what they are doing. That is good.A few of the staff are brand new. Not able to handle a large crowd and keep orders straight. Problem was resolved before we left.
On our way from Atlanta to Chattanooga, we made a special side excursion to view the old freight depot. The restoration work is beautiful, and work is coming along on the restoration of the old Crescent City Pullman car. The building was worth the trip. On the other hand, the visitor's center is small and at best mediocre, and the museum was closed for construction of a new exhibit. Dalton could do a great more to promote itself through its visitor's center if they'd give it more space and put greater emphasis on the history of the area. I came away with several brochures but not a whole lot of knowledge about what to see in Dalton. I was very disappointed.
Attractive setting. Extensive menu. Pleasant staff, knowledgeable about the menu and eager to satisfy. Food is beautifully presented and reasonable priced. The salmon entree is especially delightful. Very clean restaurant and restrooms.
The City of Dalton has restored the old freight station located downtown and created an excellent train-watching location. Dalton hosts around 50-55 freight trains a day. A platform along the building has benches and tables. Its a great place to photograph and watch passing trains. The area is protected by a fence so people don't wonder out onto the tracks. Its a relaxing place to spend some time. Inside the depot is the Dalton Chamber of commerce as well as public restrooms.
Fabulous food in historic depot with wonderful vintage decor. Both the main dining room and the bar are quaint. Staff very nice.
Didn't eat here this time but did five years ago. Pricey, but excellent ambience. Staff was friendly and food excellent when I ate here last time. I know it hasn't changed. If you have time, eat there.
For a special night out, consider this place. The staff was really nice, and the food was well worth the wait. I had scallops and risotto, paired with a fine wine, she had cadre plank fish and salad. Just yummy.
This place was perfectd for railfanning. Radio feed and rail map made it easy to know when trains were coming. We got some great pictures! With both CSX and Norfolk Southern mainlines coming through here we had plenty of excitement.
Our organization had a very successful catered meeting here. Convenient location and relatively good (although they could use more parking spaces nearby) parking. The place is unique and the staff are terrific. :-)
This was a great place for a wedding reception! Awesome atmosphere and a great view of the passing trains. Was a wounderful backdrops for photos. This is a great facility!
Had dinner at the Depot with a group of friends. The food was very good, service was great. I go there at least once a year for a good meal.
This is a Rail Fan's dream! This is one of if not the busiest pass though spot in the state of GA with both CSX and Norfolk Southern lines going through. You can get up close safely here on the depot platform and along the fence too. Well lit with plenty of parking. Visitors center here, food, and other attractions nearby.
This little gem is a fantastic spot for rail fans as it is probably the busiest pass through place in the state of GA as both Norfolk Southern and CSX share lines running through here. The depot itself is nicely restored and has a good visitors center with a restored passenger car display outside. Good parking, well lit, and lots of food and other attractions close.
