My daughter and I went here and really had a good time. Let's face it, skiing is expensive! So no commentary here on prices....just know it's pricey. And that includes tickets, food, etc. It's just the way it is. There definitely are cheaper ski areas, so if you are wondering if Mt. Snow is a low-cost place to ski, the answer is NO.The weather wasn't great for us, but despite that I'd recommend this ski area. Here's why:-plenty of parking, and not crazy far away from main lodge like some resorts (they do have shuttles)-plenty of seating areas and restaurants. You may need to search around a bit to find all of them, but they are there. -a nice high-speed 6 seater to the top, which has a cover if you need it. Very nice lift. -a few different areas from the top to explore (sunbrook, carinthia, north face). You can ski easy stuff from the top or hard stuff, plenty of choices for all abilities which is nice for a decent sized mountain like this. -free bag check-a nice lodge at the summit for food, bathrooms, sit down food, etc. -lots and lots of ambassadors all over the place ready and willing to answer any questions you haveHere's another way I'd look at it. If you are going to spend a lot of money for tickets, etc., then this is one of the first big mountain areas coming up from CT, NJ, NY, and really even from Boston area. So because it's the closest it might be a good place to go. Also, Stratton Mountain is only about 25 mins North from here, so you can easily split a weekend and ski both places no matter where you stay.

great ski weekend! the weather was a bit bipolar, but the resort itself was great. Loved the attention to detail including simple things like a free bag check that made life so much easier. Staff was helpful and friendly and they did a great job keeping the lift lines moving to avoid backups. We also saw them react quickly and efficiently when an entire group fell as they were getting on the lift. We will definitely go back!

I came here the day after the Super Bowl snow storm that hit this area, so the conditions were great! However, that was simply the luck of the draw. I also have been here in 2010.The mountain offers a great terrain park for those who enjoy that. Also, it has a very very long green circle to enjoy for beginners. And if your an experience rider, there are a lot of blues and blacks that are a ton of fun! Most of the blacks are on the north side of the mountain, and it was very windy on that side when I was there. Also, they have some glades off the green circle which were really fun, but be careful! There is a small stream that I saw multiple people get stuck in (hehe).Overall, great time. If you live in the PA, NY, NJ area and always go to the North East PA Mountains, save your money and suck up the extra 2 hour drive to this place. It's 100% worth it.

I came back to Mt Snow after after having mixed feelings last year. Hey, I got a Living Social deal so I came back. First off I never go skiing on the weekends. I just can't deal with crowds. So this year came on Mon, Tues, Wed. First off Is the Sunbrook section ever open? I am not a extreme skiier so Northface is not good for me...and that was closed too. That leaves just the main body of the mountain open. By Wednesday some of the Blues had ice patches, of course on the steepest parts of the trail. Pros Bubble Lift you rock! Lodge is nice with very good food choices. The macaroni and cheese tastes as good as it looks. Bullwheel Lodge at top of mountain was open too...thats nice. Some of the trails are very enjoyable. Cons: Not all of the mountain is open midweek and grooming could be better.

It snowed the first day of skiing so we got great powdery snow conditions. Many trail options. Great instructors for the kids! Love this mountain.

If you ski on a Saturday, whcih we did, be prepared to wait A LONG TIME in line - 45 minutes to be exact just to get a ticket and a pair of skiis. One person in our group had boots and poles, but skiis were forgotten. Signs were posted that they had run out of poles anyway. The skiis that were given were in poor condition and were not sharpened. When I complained to customer service, the young lady replied that they were doing me a favor of even renting skiis without boots. Excuse me? Whi is the customer here? I paid the same fee whether I received boots, poles and skiis or just the skiis (and the fact was they had run out of poles). She than said I should have rented elsewhere and got high performance skiis. I have received rentals at Killington and Okemo and got great skiis in great condition. Also the wait time at the main chair is in excess of 30 minutes on busy days. Better to head elsewhere. No customer service here at all and signage for trails is not particularly great. Sunday was a much better day with less time wasted waiting in lines.

If you can get Hannah or Brennan, they are awesome! Its a bit on the expensive side if you have more than one child, but its worth it.

We went there on a sunny Saturday, so it wasn't a big suprise, that this place was crowded. However, the problem is, that their lift system lacks capacity. They only have one modern 6-chair lift, all others others are outdated 2-/3-/4-chair lifts. The 2-seater on the south face is kind of dangerous, it's like trying to hop on an unloading spring. My son (10y, 5ft tall) almost got thrown off again while trying to get in. The locker room at the main base also wasn't state of the art and way too small to handle a weekend crowd. Many lockers could not be used, because the locks were damaged or the keys were missing. They could have really excelled with the restaurant on top of the mountain by setting it up with nice large-sized panorama screens, a sundeck and a well balanced menu. Well, stop dreaming, none of that can be found there, it offers the food and coziness like a cafeteria in a prison, just much smaller. For sure I didn't expect more than the disgusting burger-hot-dog-fries menu, but at least I had hoped for a more comfortable and welcoming place to rest and enjoy the gorgeous scenery.Being used to much higher standards in comparable sized ski areas in the Austrian Alps (at a much lower price), this turned into a rather disappointing experience. The good part was, that the slopes were in great condition and well groomed/prepared. The runs offer a decent variety in terms of length, width and grade.

Nice mountain, but it gets pretty crowded. I have heard stories about entitled city people skiing over others' skis (from multiple people). Of course, I haven't seen or experienced this firsthand, but it's definitely a see and be seen type of place. We went early season when not all of the trails were open. Tough to get a seat in the cafeteria for sure. Still fun, but really, when is skiing not fun?

Wanted to give snowshoeing a try while in the area. Wind chills were -20 so we wanted to try a guided tour for the first time and this was one of the only guided tour in the area. It ran $45 plus 20% gratuity added if you choose and that includes shoes and ski poles. The tour lasted about 1-1.5 hours as advertised and it winded through the woods along the slopes. It is much more strenuous than expected, so be prepared for that.I was a bit disappointed in that there was not much of a scenic view and you never got to the top of the mountain. The entire trail winds through the woods and you can occasionally see a decent view through the trees, but you have to be conscious of where you are walking because its tricky coming back down the mountain.Overall, a great intro to snowshoeing that helped me understand it requires more energy than hiking, but I would look elsewhere in the area for something better to do snowshoeing for the price.

OK we don't go to "real" ski mountains much and are used to smaller mountains with night skiing and a day pass that ends at 5 or 6 - apparently it is common for lifts to close at 4 BUT Mt Snow has so much literature/advertising about their tubing hill that blares a 6:00 closing time that we assumed that that was when the lifts stopped. We thought when all except the main lift were closed at 3:35 that it was due to wind or something but by the time we took the long walk from the far side of the mountain to the main lift area they wouldn't let us on the main lift at 3:55 either. In general I feel like we wasted our time and money this particular day - it was a crowded holiday week with long lift lines and very cold temps that necessitated frequent breaks so that in 5 hours there, my husband and kids got in only 6 runs - and couldn't get to many of the interesting trails/features that were the point of taking the trip. Also they found the bluebird disappointing - any extra warmth added by the shield was completely outweighed by the extra 20+ minutes in line, after 2 tries they skipped it in favor of regular old chair lifts. On the plus side, we were careful not to bring a cooler inside the lodge but no one seemed to care that we were eating lunch out of back packs, and if you do want to go, the Sundance lodge which was open was much less crazy and loud than the main lodge.

I wish I could have seen ski patrol on the slopes. I didnt see any at all. My daugther had fallen several times going down the mountain on long john and there wasnt anyone around to even ask if she was ok. Other places I have visited in the past had visible ski partrol skiing down the mountain while the resort was open, but this was not the case with Mount Snow.

I had a wonderful time skiing and I love every single moment. I stayed there. It had all the things. We needed to have fun. My family and I enjoyed it very much.

It's easy to generalize that ski resorts in the Appalachians do not compare to those in the Rockies or Cascades, especially in terms of vertical drop or skiable area. But that's not entirely true, since Mount Snow (1600 vertical feet and 500-750 acres) compares to my favorite snowboarding resort, Mount Baker (1500 vertical feet and 750-100 acres). I was surprised too.Overall, I was pleased with this resort. For the three days my wife and I were there, a lack of cold and snow meant that about 25-50% of the trails were not open on a given day. However, they really tried to keep things going by making as much snow as possible. What was open was still good, though not overly challenging. My only complaint was that Mount Snow does not really have an area meant for more experienced skiers and boarders as opposed to families, kids, and learners. The Main Face includes green and easier blue runs. The Sunbrook area, west of the Main Face, has slightly more difficult blue runs, but the blue ratings drew a lot of people who needed to spend some more time on the Main Face. The North Face, home of all the black diamonds, was closed due to lack of snow.My wife and I mainly enjoyed the runs serviced by the Sunbrook, Grand Summit Express, and Canyon Express lifts, riding mainly in the Sunbrook and eastern Main Face areas--this helped us to avoid the crowds. We stayed away from the Bluebird Express--it was always way too crowded compared to the other lifts, probably because it is the only one with wind screens. Two final recommendations. First, take the opportunity to visit the Waffle Cabin at the base of the Grand Summit Express. It is a great way to start a day of skiing, especially on a cold day. Just remember to take cash. Second, grab lunch at Cuzzins Bar and Grill. Good beer, great service, and the Peanut Butter and Bacon sandwich.

When you ski only once or twice a year, timing is everything. I had two boys to get fitted in ski gear, sorted with lessons and lift tickets and the Team at the Discovery Center was excellent in helping me deal with the booking. I had made some mistakes in my advanced booking and they were flexible to guide me through the changes. The goal was to get my kids settled, so I could ski in peace. Emily, Jenny and Angie were there for me everyday and got my helmets I forgot, helped my son with his boots, changed a lesson detail, etc. with a smile and cheerful attitude.
