We stopped by this place by chance when on our way elsewhere andweregkad we dropped in. We started with a live cooking demo in the front garden along with a chat on local history which helped put the area in context for us. We then took a guided tour with Andy our very engaging and knowledgeable guide who helped bring the site to life. Certainly worth a visit and great value too. Worth noting that parking on site is very limited, perhaps four or five vehicles at any one time but there is a large parking lot at a store site just a hundred yards away.

My wife and I found this place by accident. The tour guide is the greatest. Everyone who wants to learn more about Vermont history should check out this place.

Though it is only open on the weekend, this is one of the most interesting historical sites I have visited in Vermont. For a mere 3.00 admission it represents one of the best values in terms of historical sites. The American Precision Museumjust up the road represents in my view one of the worst values,as it's 8.00 price tag is hard to justify. The tourguide was fantastic and truly made the building come alive. There were so many side stories that one would miss if they did not go on the tour.

The tour was fantastic - our guide was incredibly informative and knowledgeable. The house is kept in original form with artifacts throughout. We left with a whole new knowledge of our history. Highly recommended!

We were passing right by as we were on our way from another attraction. Admission was $2.50 and we got a $25 tour! Andrew asked if were wanted the full, or the abbreviated version; we opted for the shorter one. He guided us through the house, enlightening us every step of the way. We were overwhelmed with his knowledge and charming presentation. Andrew kept our attention for at least an hour. Well-preserved house and artifacts It was a great introduction to Vermont's long history. Should be a highlight on the state map. Thank you Andrew.

This looked as if it was going to be a main part of our Windsor visit, but it is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. So be careful when you take the drive out because you don't want to waste a trip. We read the signs on the outside and learned about the house and its owners but that was it!

the house was very well kept and the path behind the house leads to a beautiful pond with seats to enjoy the view...very nice place to visit.

The history of the House is fascinating for Vermonters and tourists alike. At first, I thought it might be a private residence due to the small parking area (2 ,maybe 3 spaces). However, once I was happily greeted by the tour guide on the front porch, I new it was solely a histoical site. Great tour - the guide was very knowledgable and personable. Only $2.50 per person for the tour. There were interesting antiques throughout the house. The whole tour was about 45 minutes, and well worth it.
