fernhill wetlands park

Ducks, Geese, Egrets and that was just this morning. Fernhill is being upgraded with paved parking and more paved paths making this site even more accessible.

This place is so cool! There is a trail that goes around the lake and there are always lots of interesting birds. Even saw a flock of white pelicans here once. They have recently been updating and expanding and landscaping portions of the trail. It looks like they poured a ton of money into it. Wish they would have spent some of that money around town to expand some of the neighborhood trails. It's interesting how they using this as a water filtration system.

Awesome trails and beautiful lake. There were tons of wildlife and birds. We really enjoyed our trip here. Well worth visiting

This is our go-to place to nosh on take-out food from any of the fast-food chains within one mile of this natural area, sit back, watch the serene pond, and admire the water birds and spawning fish. Beautiful at any season, including frozen over in winter, this serene get-away is minutes from downtown Forest Grove. The dirt walkway around the pond is a good place to walk pets on leash or to power walk the calories away. Recent improvements include paved areas that open up the area to people in wheelchairs or to those with other mobility issues.

The birds at the wetlands were incredible. Four blue herons burst out of a brushy bank in front of us. It was fantastic!

Viewing area is not as nice as the Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro. Weather is also hit or miss. Wildlife can vary greatly depending on traffic and time of year.

This is a super place to visit and learn about the wetlands. A nice place to walk and enjoy the natural beauty.
