The Genoa courses (Lakes course & Ranch Course) have always been interesting to play and in nice condition. Recently they were purchased by a couple from Reno and they are bringing both courses back to great conditioning.I played the Lake course 2 days ago and saw nice improvements already. I met the new owners and they are very interested in making their courses the best in the Carson Valley...which I believe they will....Refreshing to see owners excited about making beautiful courses even better.Mike

Honest food at reasonable prices. Food came out quickly. Golf course is very good. Course is in good shape and is challenging with lots of water.

Great staff, very knowledgeable--weather was perfect, bring your camera for the wildlife you'll see on and off the course--I'll play again when visiting the Lake Tahoe area

There are two courses in the Genoa Lakes golf family. The Lakes course just north of Genoa, and the Resort course which is about two miles north of the Lakes course. Both offer excellent golf, but they offer two distinct outlooks. The Lakes course is more traditional with three tees to offer any kind of challenge. The Resort course winds its way from valley floor to great views on holes 12 through 16. It is the more visually intimidating, with bad shots flying off into the barranca. Both are fun and well worth the play.

The course was in excellent condition.Pace of play was fast. We took 4 hours.Staff put us on 30 minutes before tee time,so that was great.I made par on the hardest hole,so that made my day.Very nice course if you avoid the bunkers & water. Will golf it again when in the area

This course will challenge your golf skills, especially putting! Remember, the "V" in the mountain slopes! Ask the pro about it...

Played the Lakes course with a friend in September. The course was in good shape with no signs of wear from the season. We enjoyed the course. The club house is well appointed, the staff friendly and helpful. Distance between holes is a bit long so most will want to use a cart. For warm-up the practice green is a bit difficult to locate as it is tucked away across the parking lot from the 1st tee.

Well manicured golf course with incredible views. A little bit of a hike from downtown south lake tahoe, but reasonably priced and well worth the trip. Plus, right by old historic downtown Genoa which is a fun place to check out.

There are really two full 18 hole courses in Genoa. The Genoa Lakes course, and the Genoa Lakes Resort course. They are a mile or so apart and give you a choice of challenges. The Lakes course is a more traditional layout with tees for every ability. The Resort course starts on the valley floor and climbs up until you have wonderful views of the Carson Valley. Either one can give a player all the enjoyment and trials a good golf course can bring.

My husband and I played here on the Lakes Course with our son and his girlfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - great scenery, clubhouse and proshop. Three of us rented clubs and were happy with their quality. Tough course with lots of water and sand. Course was in nice shape, not terribly busy, proshop staff and starter very friendly. We all had a fun day on the course and our group has varying skill levels as golfers.Only couple downsides were there was no drink cart on course the day we played and a very limited menu of cold sandwiches you could order while playing - but we were pleasantly surprised with how good the sandwiches we ordered actually were.

We took the 30 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe to Genoa Lakes to play golf one day on our recent vacation and was pleasantly surprised by the course, and shocked at the beautiful drive. The drive has some of the most scenic overlooks we saw in the Tahoe area. Course was in good condition and a good value for what we paid in green fees and cart.

The four of us that golfed there this past weekend really enjoyed the experience. The staff and facility are top notch and the fairways and greens are in very good shape. The layout is not as challenging as a place like DarkHorse, Auburn, but it's just a pleasant way to spend 4.5 hours with friends. If you are ever around the Carson City/Genoa area, make a tee time and soak up the experience.

We played a foursome at the lakes course in late winter/early spring. Although there was a bit of confusion as to where we check in and get carts since they hadn't opened fully for the season, the staff was friendly and we had a nice round. The course is well designed and the greens well managed. I would definitely play here again if the price is right.

Good quality course, not overly challenging but good to play at a reasonable price. Greens are in good condition. Course is little played and was a relaxing play
