We were watching "Great Truck Stops" on television the other day and they recommended Sierra Sid's Casino not only has a great truck stop for food in Sparks, NV, but they have an interesting collection of guns, etc., right inside the casino. So while in Reno, we drove the short distance to Sid's to see what it was all about. Well, the parking lot was full of 16 wheelers as Sierra Sids is right of the freeway, I-80. The casino is really nothing, very small and all machines. But we really stopped to see what the "collection" was all about. Starting at the Casino entrance, there is a collection of firearms, rifles and pistols dating back to pre-1900'd up and through commerative 1911 45's. There was also unique collection of Elvis memorabilia from a set of revolvers to rings and other jewelery that he wore and then given to his father "Vernon". There were also some other Elvis things which made it an unusual collection accumulated by the Casino. If you are an Elvis fan, it is something you should not miss. The low rating is for it not being a high end Casino but we have heard the truck stop food is realy great.

If you want to be cheated and treated in a rude unprofessional manner this is a place to absolutely avoid.Me and my friends were spending a few thousand each week here and because of rude customer service and cheating staff we have quit spending money at sierra sids and the "William Hill sportsbetting",one of the worst places in sparks nv area

Great stop, fun to see where the truckers go, food is good and lots of it. Small casino but its a small place.

For its purpose, Sierra Sid's does a very good job. It serves the many interstate highway 80 truckers who stop for gas, some food, and perhaps try their hand at luck at the casino. Its a very small casino in the scope of Reno's larger casinos that are downtown and as such, we do not go here often.But it serves its customers well.

The food leaves a lot to be desires as does the 'cafe' if you want to call it that. Total joke. Prices are absurd as well.

My wife and I ate at the restaurant here. It is a truck stop, and that usually means "trucker" portions. We ordered our dishes and when they brought them out to us, I was a bit disappointed at the portions. The food wasn't spectacular, but still pretty good. As we were finishing our dinner, our server returned and asked us if we wanted drink refills and seconds. Seconds? I asked. Our server replied, "Yes, you get seconds here." So we ordered seconds and it was filling. Never been offered seconds before, it was awesome! I did not leave disappointed after all. Truly a good value!

Good place to fuel the car up and grab a coffee. Did not eat or enter the casino. Easy access off of rt. 80.

I had a great time playing the old slot machines; nickels actually dropped out. And, the Sports Book guys were great in helping me place a bet on the Superbowl. Also, this place has a really good restaurant with good wholesome food and a great salad bar. It is in walking distance to the Western Village Inn.

This is where we stay in Reno/Sparks about once a week! Exit 19 of I-80. We love the area, you can walk about 2 blocks to the Sparks Marina and have a nice walk around the lake. Stop off at the Legends Mall for some window shopping or a movie. Check out my review of the Legends Mall.The showers at this place are amazing! Clean, roomy and with big fluffy white towels, not like that other chain where the blue towels look like shop towels.The restaurant staff is very nice and attentive and they have a typical TA menu.I only gave it 4 stars for 3 reasons:1. They are doing construction on the fuel island for truckers and that makes it a little difficult. This will last months.2. The convenience store is not well managed. They are frequently out of coffee or some staple and it's dark and crowded. Not a typical TA store.3. There is only one exit and it can be a booger to find and get out of because there is road construction on that street.Inspite of those things we always enjoy our stay here!

Some okay restaurants, but it is basically just a truck stop with a small casino. Not a place you'd go out of your way to visit, see, etc.

Plenty of food, good breakfast, reliable and tasty. Haven't had luch or dinner but the breakfasts are good.

Sid's has been around forever!!! When Sid was alive he was sitting in the back booth everyday! It is clean and servers are nice and they remember regulars. The food is real "Truck Stop Food" but chicken fried steak done right and corned beef hash and Denver Omeltes are what America rolls on. They have a nice soup and salad barr too!

We stopped into Sid's because a friend told us we needed to go. We had a great time while we were there. Its a smaller Casino but the place was clean and the people were friendly and helpful. The girl at the counter in the store gave us some directions and was able to find what we were looking for. We also enjoyed the gun displays and the Elvis displays that they had.
