I study now in this University and is a good place. It's so big and beautiful. If you want study here it's great, but I think it isn't really touristic

The University of Nevada at Reno campus is a very nice surprise for most people. Beautiful setting, great place to see local history, especially the geology museum. Also a wide spectrum of intercollegiate athletics, lectures, concerts, picnics, planetarium and a beautiful place to walk around

Beautiful campus. Be sure to check out the state of the art library. Take a camera in Fall and Spring for the excellent photo opportunities.

3 years ago we started a search with our son for the university he would attend. The other campus we visited did not compare to UNR. From the buildings to the backdrop of mountains and downtown Reno, this place is gorgeous. Oh and did I mention it is a Tier I, DI school? Run with Pack!!!!

The UNR is a great college. We toured the Dorms and Facilities at the college. Their is a new dorm building being built near the college which is awesome. Loved the Wolf Den, the food was outstanding.

New building and developments have improved the look and feel of the campus. The football venue is fine but for the number of east side seats packed in. Only a section full of 12 year olds could sit comfortably on the east side.

Well worth looking/touring the campus, simply beautiful. From the Quad to the Knowledge Center everything is worth viewing.

With right at 20,000 students, UNR is not only "THE University" in Nevada (older and larger than UNLV), but it's one of the few state universities considered a "tier one" school. With a major commitment to research and a reducing student-faculty ratio, the university promises to increase its "creme de la creme" ranking. The personal interest that faculty and administration take towards motivated, involved students is exceptional. UNR also has strong community outreach programs that make it a real asset to Reno and Nevada. Further, the campus and its facilities are both beautiful and top notch.

We traveled primarily for a college football game. While we were the losing side, the UV Reno fans were quite rude and borderline abusive. Our fans were really not much better and even offended the recent grads with us.

Beatiful campus, friendly informative staff. We had visited before and this time were here to drop her off.

My son just moved into the dorms and is a freshman at the university. It is a beautiful campus and I'm so excited for him as he begins this next phase in his life. I'm impressed by the staff during move-in and I loved their Opening Ceremony.

If you are considering attending, then please consider that there's more to UNR than the pleasantly manicured exterior. I was a student here for two years before I finally decided it wasn't worth the aggravation and transferred. Why, you may ask? I was at the top of my class. The teachers were qualified and competent (with one or two exceptions). I had plenty of scholarships. The facilities are more than decent. But if you really enjoy learning, are genuinely interested in your major of choice, and want a little competition (or at least some classes where the other students are awake and sober), then UNR is not the place to be. The problem is the culture. The nightlife and sports culture roars while the academic culture whispers. If that is what you, a prospective student, are looking for, then perhaps this is your fit. The general whole of the student body tends to reflect it - the general attitude can be carefree at best, but petty and shallow at worst. So, consider what it is you want out of your college experience. If you want an academically-centered institution with intelligence, rigor, or challenge, then you may find that the massive debt of going out-of-state may be less of a headache than staying at a school that simply isn't a good fit.

Everybody was very friendly and opened doors for us. The permanent art gallery collection is worth a close look. The Kegg mineralogy museum is fantastic.

We have enjoyed visiting the University of Nevada at Reno Campus. We have gone to their football stadium there to watch a football game - actually we were lucky enough that time to see Colin Kapernick play. He was stellar that day; he is now the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. Nice stadium. Most recently (July 2014) we visited the campus and went to the WW Keck Museum - a very good geological museum on the campus. Its a beautiful campus with a lot of trees - just north (walkable distance) from the downtown Reno casino area.We have also had a relative graduate from this campus.

This school has it all and then some. Lots of construction going on, the place is really growing. Student art is all over the campus, which suggests a strong, integrated art department. Lots of history too. The school has all the latest & greatest, including 2 3D printers (which i had never seen until now). Perfectly located for access to Tahoe and ski resorts. Lots of school spirit. This place was a big surprise and an undiscovered gem of a university. My daughter and her friend really liked it. I would be happy to send my child here for a first-class education.
