It's nice to walk into a business that is owned by locals. In San Diego, to have a brewery (the craft beer capital of the world, by the way) owned by a family is something special. They make incredible beer to boot. The most impressive thing is how different all of their beer tastes. They use different yeast strains for different beers, so that they won't resemble each other. In addition, it's so great to have a brewery that only relies on IPAs!This is a must stop on any SD brewery tour!

Iron First Brewery, for me, represents all the best aspects of the S.D. microbrewery scene. Entrepreneurial success story, great family business and killer Beer. The story of this place is an inspiring one. Polish immigrant family whose son started brewing in his early twenties and the whole family kicked in to get the business off the ground. There's something inspiring about a business where the parents work as servers, the grandparents pick up the tables and the son is the Master Brewer. And what a nice family they are.The Blonde and the Saison are my favorites. Low on the IBU scale but with lots of interesting notes, in a traditional Belgian style. The Velvet Glove seems to be the most popular. There's always a food truck out front and interesting locals to chat with inside.Note that there are several other good microbreweries within a 1 mile radius if you are on tour, including Aztec, Indian Joe's and Belching Beaver.

Really enjoyable stop-in for a pair of samplers at Iron Fist Brewing Co. The tasting room is really nice and the staff are fantastic! They were all super friendly, answered questions about their beers and offered good suggestions. I took a couple home with me. I wish I'd have taken a few. The layout of the tasting room is ample and clean. Prices were really good as well. This is definitely a place worth stopping if you're trying out craft breweries in the San Diego area! There is just nothing to not like about Iron Fist!

We ended our long drive from Northern California here and were pleasantly surprised. Greeted by a delightful family who made us feel at home and attended to, we tasted all current releases. We even met the Brewmaster who shared details about how this brewery's Kolsch style beer is crafted. Our favorite are Hired Hand, Dubbel Fister, and Uprising. Velvet Glove is an excellent smooth stout we like for winter days. Nelson the imPALer is perfect for summer sipping.

Top Notch Belgian style. Great atmosphere. Great family run business. Blah Blah Blah. Just go there.

So full disclosure is that I actually live three blocks from Iron Fist but that in no way colors my opinion. No really it doesn't. We are so lucky in northern San Diego county to have 10 of the best micro breweries in the country right here! I grew up in the St. Louis area with the "king of beers" but this beer is at another level. The variety is outstanding and not just the IPA whgich they are famous for. The people treat you like family and the tasters are the way to go. Forget buying a pint it totally limits the taste sensation of trying everything. As a side note, our micro breweries also feature food trucks outside and we also have the best food truck scene this side of New Your City. So....come visit and it you see a guy who looks like a college professor sitting there with a table of tasters, please say hello.

My husband and I love going to Iron Fist. I'm hooked on the Dubbel Fisted beer right now but they have so many other good ones. The atmosphere is great, we love that we can bring our dog. If you're hungry there's always a food truck outside, every time we've eaten from one the food has been great! On a side note their growlers are the coolest I've seen, I definitely encourage getting one to take home some of their beer.

Iron Fist had my favorite beer of the day during our brewery tour. This was the only brewery that offered me a splash before making my selection. There is seating available and TV screens for sporting events. Some people even brought their dogs. My favorite was Spice da Mango.

I love micro brews and while I enjoy others in Northern San Diego I always go back to Iron Fist as my first choice.I have gotten to know the owners and they welcome me and all others like we are part of the family which gives this place its great vibe. While I admit I do not like heavy beers they make many others (IPA’s, Saisons, etc.)That keep me coming back to get my growlers filled. If you are a Beer aficionado then Iron Fist needs to be on your list of breweries to come have a flight at if you are in northern San Diego hands down.

I don't like bitter beer. I tasted several and was disappointed in each. The place was packed so some people may like that type of beer. Not my choice.

I am a local brewery kind of guy and this is the best brewery in town. Ive brought my kid since he was a baby and we bring our dog. The trippel is my fav. Great people. Great beer. I drive 35 miles now just to fill my growler

Went here for a taste testing because I saw some of their beers at BevMo. They have a selection of strong, strong beers which is the reason I was drawn to it. Besides the ridiculously cool logo, this beer line up is family owned, family grown. Hard work, and pristine brewing makes one of my favorite beers, the Golden aged, and Hired hand. Raise a fist boys!
