artEAST is a wonderful community art gallery, filled witha wide variety of work from local artists. I love browsing the creative art pieces and meeting the local artists - prices are very reasonable and the art is accessible. I always try to stop by when in Issaquah if I have the time. They also have classes and interesting community events such as the Crows and Ravens, Women of Persia and eco-sculpture nests. There is always something interesting happening with this group. It's a great place to take-out-of town guests who are interested in local art, the artists working in the gallery are very helpful about providing information on pieces , about the artists etc. Also just strolling down Front street is fun. The city usually has a wine stroll on the first Friday in the evening which is fun.

This local arts cooperative is a gem of a place. Artist run and very engaged in the community, they host a retail gallery, exhibition space, and art classes in a wide variety of mediums. Quality art is for sale, and there are frequent events which are free and open to the public. Classes are very affordable (see their website) . Whether you are a resident of the area or a visitor looking for relief from the sameness of chain stores, you will always find artists on hand here who will welcome you. And be sure to check out the art in the beautiful restrooms!
