lazy dayz

Decided to take a staycation from Chicago. Instead of looking to Illinois we decided on a whim to look into Indiana. Found Lazy Dayz Canoe and Kayak rental about 20 minutes past South Bend in a tiny town called Bristol. Owners were awesome, met us at the car parking lot at the appointed time, and drove us up to the canoe. My wife and two children then took a canoe down the St. Joseph river back to our car. At the end of the journey we called the owners five minutes before arrival and they met us by our car to take back the canoe. Everything ran very smoothly. We picknicked along the way and my kids really enjoyed. Although there are some houses, for the most part it was just nature and a great getaway that is very affordable. Took us 4 hours for the long course and we were back in Chicago before 6 p.m. We will definitely be back. Bring lots of food and sunscreen. Also, you may want to bring one of foldable stadium seats to use in the canoe.
