For the second year in a row, our hockey team took part in extreme tubing at Treetops and we had a BLAST! 30+ kids and parents reserved the 10-11 tubing slot. Everything went extremely smooth. When we made our reservations it was suggested we arrive 30 minutes early in order to get our tickets and sign our release forms which as perfect. We all made it through the line and out to the tubing hill right on schedule. The kids had a blast and the staff running the tubing hill were GREAT with our kids! Whether we were in tube groups of four or they were spinning singles down the hill, they were friendly and fun. We will definitely be back!

I have played at Treetops many times over the last 20 years and most of the other courses in the area as well. Great golf with good variety in breathtaking surroundings. The elevation changes are a blast. I have always enjoyed the lunch and beer while between rounds. In my opinion Treetops Resort Golf and Boyne Resort Golf are equal so explore if you want a change of scenery.

Went there this weekend on a GROUPON deal. Stayed in the hotel room closest to the ski slopes. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My sister's guest room had just been renovated and was fantastic (room 140) It had two queens and a bunk bed above each bed so that room slept 6! It was also large enough for sitting, and mini kitchenette. Bathroom was re-done too. The service at ski rental, front desk, both restaurants and at tubing slopes were super friendly. The manager at the breakfast restaurant remembered our daily breakfast drinks and brought them over right away the next time we were there. Food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Ski tickets and rental were reasonable and slopes were were groomed. Give this welcoming and cozy place a chance. Fun and not too crowded and no rudeness, just great workers. Will come again.

Treetops continues to be my all time favorite place to golf and we golf all over the U.S. The courses are just fantastic. There are five courses. We always golf 27 holes a day - one of the 18 hole courses and then Threetops afterwards. My favorite courses are Signature and Premier. What outstanding views and rolling terrain and no two holes are alike. It was absolutely fabulous this year and in great shape. We love the Par Three Threetops - so unique and a blast to play. Like riding a roller coaster. The practice facility area is also fantastic and the staff is friendly. The practice putting green is phenomenal. Just don't stay here - the lodging is horrible. We have stayed here for years and years and for the first time this year, we stayed down the road at Otsego Club and it was SO much better. Treetops really has to renovate. We will never stay here again. But they pack people in with their $99 specials, so I guess they have no reason to renovate. They claim that they are in the process of renovating, but they have said that for years. It never happens.

Stayed at the main lodge that was a delight. Greens leave a bit to be desired and should be designed to attract more golfers instead they leave you with frustration and 3 putts. Tee to Green very scenic and fair and able to hit in regulation, but once on the green look out!

So much fun - they have an 18 hole foofgolf course on the first 9 holes of the Tradition. My son, sister and I have done it twice and will go again soon. So much fun - recommend brining your own soccer ball - the ones they rent are all the same kind so you can mix them up also if you plan to go more often you will need your own ball. You can cart or walk the course - we walked it twice - nice walk - we didn't want or need a cart. Be sure to get a score card when you check in at the main gate they didn't have the footgolf cards at the Tradition course. So much fun can't wait to go back - be sure to bring water with you as they don't have a cart person and if you are walking you will want to stay hydrated. Also take a lot of picture!

We played the Masterpiece course for the second year on an annual golf trip to the area. The course is terrific and the scenery is absolutely awesome. But, be prepared to have tough walks between your golf cart and the green. On most holes, you will be going severely up hill either to or from the golf cart. But it is certainly worth it. The vistas are amazing.

I gave it average because the highs and the lows reached its average score. I'll summarize it.Highs:- Excellent friendly staff, everyone was nice and greeted you at every turn. Service was exceptional all over the resort.- Being mainly a golf resort, the course was well-maintained and despite being a par three course it was still very enjoyable. Lows:- The rooms are dated. Brass fixtures are one thing you can overlook, but when they don't function correctly, it doesn't matter what finish they are. Plumbing problems abound, from leaky toilets, to faucet handles that broke off, it's just outlived its usefulness. I didn't realize how much I missed having a curved shower rod until I had to use their conventional shower. There was no bath fan, just a 70's heat lamp? No full length mirror. - The restaurant food was just mediocre at best. Luckily Gaylord isn't that big that other restaurants in town aren't too far away.- Finally, the unavailability of hot water and air conditioning weighed on this visit. The wonderful staff made you forget about this until you return to the room. Luckily cold showers complement having no air conditioning.Overall the resort needs an update. The 70's decor is almost coming back in style if it all works. But it's just tired.

Enjoyed the Resort for Golf at Masterpiece. The staff was great, the accommodations were excellent, and the course was well maintained and beautiful. Had a slow foursome in front of us which the ranger corrected on the front nine but no ranger appeared during the back nine so the pace was too slow on the back nine. What did we dislike? THE FOOD. It was below par for this type of resort. Very, very disappointing. Lacked flavor. Poor texture. In fact, so disappointing we would not go back as it takes us 8 hours to reach the Resort. Due to the food, we did not feel we got a truly five star experience based on the cost.

Have played all the courses here and stayed overnight a few times. Amazing courses...well groomed, variety of skill levels...don't skip playing threetops...hands down the best par three course I've ever played...I enjoy it as much as the 18 hole courses.

Eight of us played 90 holes of golf over 3 days on all 4 courses and had a great time. This was our 3rd time at Treetops, staying in the chalets. All courses were in great shape. Courses played much firmer than in years' past. Not sure if it hadn't rained much the last few weeks, or if it's the result of the harsh winter. That's not a negative - just an observation. The only negative was there was a bachelor party from Canada in front of us on Friday afternoon that made the round take over 5 hours. The ranger kept us informed, and did what they could to get things moving, which it did pick up eventually. Most of the backup occurred on holes 10-12 - then things moved better. The assistant pro even came out to the course (about hole 15) and said we would get a voucher for free golf. Everyone was gone for the day when we finished - I will be calling this week - so hopefully they will live up to their word. Some advice - if you are a novice golfer, I would avoid the Masterpiece. Much harder than the other 3 courses. And play the correct set of tees. I know the white tees are short on the card - but the course doesn't play that short as most of the holes have severely uphill 2nd shots. I'm a 6 handicap, the whites were plenty for me. The chalets now all have new LG TVs, which is a huge upgrade from the old tube TVs from years' past. The chalets are functional - nothing fancy. But we're pretty much only in our rooms to sleep, so don't need much. If people complain about the chalets, they just had the wrong expectations or didn't do their homework.Breakfast was outstanding, as they have added an omelet station with 2 people and 4 skillets, so you never had to wait long for your omelet. And the sports bar food is above average for bar food, and the pizza is great. Plus several TVs tuned to different sports. We will definitely be back!!

Just finished a great golf outing here. The courses were a bit rough, but it is early and has been a tough winter., They still remain the best collection of great golf in Michigan or anywhere. The hotel is also in a bit of need for updating, but remains comfortable. Food was good for a large outing like this of over 100 people. Overall, the staff was very hospitable and accomodating. You are sure to have a pleasant time here.

Normally, this is overpriced, but if you can find a deal of some sort, it is great golf. The Jones course is beautiful, but too hard for my liking. Driver, 3 iron to par 4's gets old quickly. Especially with difficult greens and fairways that don't hold shots easily. The Fazio course is the BEST course on the planet. Everything that frustrates me about the Jones is reversed here. Course is just long enough and the greens and fairways are very receptive to quality shots. Look for all you can play or discounted rates for stay and play. If you are not paying full price, you are getting your money worth.
