waterford oaks waterpark

This place is just all-out fun, with kids or without. I've been going for 12 years and love it all - the water slides, the wave pool, and even the kid's pond with the huge tipping water bucket. I don't care how old you are, you have to stand under this thing at least once in your life. The food offered is typical, somewhat overpriced fast, greasy stuff. Not a bad idea to pack a lunch if you plan to stay for more than an hour, as you will definitely burn some calories! The water is always very clean and the lifeguards do a good job making sure people don't get too rowdy. I would suggest wearing those plastic water shoes if you have tender feet, because gripping the bottom with toes during the waves can be tough on the skin. Waterford residents get a discount, too!

Great county water park, the staff is very friendly there and the they have plenty of BBQ to grill but if it's hot out get there early to secure a picnic table with shade and a BBQ.

We usually drive to Madison Heights for the lazy river, but now that my kids are four and five we decided to try Waterford Oaks. This is a great park. I am sure one complaint could be that it is smaller, than Red Oaks, however, it is easier to travel between the kiddie area and the wave pool. The lack of a lazy river would always make this park my second choice, but since we bough the year end summer pass, we decided to give it a try. Now I think we will plan a big friend outing here for next year. The concession stand was nice. No line when we went, but it was closer to dinner time. The raft ride is awesome. My five year old son was very afraid, but we coaxed him into trying it once. He ended up thinking it was fun. It is something to try. I can't remember what the height requirement is, but I don't think this would have worked for us last year ( 3 and 4 years old). They also have buy one get one free after 4pm, so that would be a great time to give it a try. We had a great time the other day and are going back this weekend!! Another plus is you can bring in your own food and coolers.
