This is a great part of Lansing to walk around and see. Some bars, cafes and restaurants, and a lot of eclectic shops. The buildings, architecture, and overall atmosphere need to be experienced if in the area! The only think I think would make Old Town even more appealing is a handful more restaurants......

Several restaurants in this area are amazing, I especially like Meat for BBQ. This is a nice place to walk around, visit shops or take pictures, overall a nice place to spend a lazy afternoon.

We had to check out the festival. Beer tents, items to buy with logo on it, German foods to try. My fiancee tried all the meats and I tried desserts. Parking for the event was just on the streets with parking meters.

40 years ago I came back from visiting Chicago's Old Town and tried to tell everyone that Lansing''s North End, as it was referred to then, was better for architecture and right on the river too and everyone told me I was crazy. It was a skid row back then with some very rough bars (two New Years Eves in a row a bartender was beaten to death in one of the bars!). Now it is a model of genteel and interesting shops and restaurants (including Pablo's, the best Mexican restaurant Lansing has ever had), the place is cleaned up, there is a nearby fish ladder on the river, sans fish sadly. At any rate it is a pleasure to stroll and observe the Darius Moon architecture. It has become a bit yuppified, however and this is just the tiniest bit of a drawback. Many art and music festivals held there...It is long overdue that this asset to our community has come into its' own. There is a sit down Pizza shop with a gorgeous view of the river and some new Antiques Shops toward the Washington Ave end of it, too!

Nice to see the original part of Lansing revitalized. Lots of nice shops, galleries and restaurants.

The transition from 'old' to 'old town' was some time ago. This area hosts many fun street fairs and parties in a nice re-gentrified (but not overly done) venue. Old Town Lansing has a wonderful river-walk and gives one the feel of times gone by. Leave the cell phone in the car and spend the afternoon dining and strolling along the streets and the river. Well done, Lansing!

There is quiet a bit to do in Old Town. There is the river walk and a lot of boutique shops to wander. Plenty of places to grab a bite or a full meal.

Being a Lansing native I've been around the town a couple times. This is one of the best places to go in Lansing. Preuss Pets is fun with its exotic animals to explore. Zoup is an amazing eatery to stop for lunch. Clems is perfect for all m fellow nerds out there or even board game enthusiasts. My only problem was finding parking and paying for it other than that this place is great.

Fun places to eat, shop, and plenty of activities! The popcorn place is the best! If you like antiques....this is the place to visit.

The Old Town Section of Lansing consists of Craft, Antique and Nostalgia shops, Interior Designers, and Restaurants. It is fun to walk and check out the stores. Be sure to look at the buildings. Not boxes like todays modern buildings. Also plan to eat while here. Checkout the river, river walk and fish ladder. You can have a great time.

Lansing is going down the steep slope, quickly. Its nice that a place like Old Town is up and coming though! Compared to the rest of Lansing, this is the only area to hang out in. A lot of great little shops and joints to eat at. Of course you can check out a Lugnuts baseball game also!

This area of Lansing, MI is becoming a hidden jewel in this city! There are the cutest little shops and new businesses popping up everywhere. They just hosted a Taste and Tour of Old Town that allowed you to tour the insides of some of the loft style apartments and town homes and taste several samples in a few of the restaurants in the area and end with a full meal at one - preapproved! This is such a romantic area to walk around and definitely family-friendly as well! Lots to see and do...

I love Old Town. It has such a varied collection of art galleries and shops. I particularly enjoy the festivals they have - jazz festival, blues festival, art festivals - that bring such diverse collections of people together. And during the growing season there is even a farmer's market on the intersection of Grand River and Turner. Lots of restaurants, too.
