This was our first visit to this winery. It was a freezing cold day so we were limited to the small tasting room. Our server was super nice and welcoming which made it enjoyable. The wine was ok but nothing stood out to me.

What a fun place to hang out with friends! So many music events, and the Oyster Festival... what a blast!

The wines are pretty good and the folks pouring are very good. Loved the dogs..great greeters! They love teachers and the military. Good stop!

Our daughter appears to like the wines here but we were not particularly blown over. The tasting room is a bit industrial for my taste but appeared to be OK for the crowd that was there. The wines were run of the mill.

Came here this past weekend for an oyster festival and had quite a fun time. The live music was great, the local oysters were absolutely delicious and went well with two of the Cardinal Point whites: 'Green,' which is an homage to the Vinho Verde region, and 'A6' which is a lightly oaked chardonnay-viognier blend. They also have a hopped chardonnay-- never thought I'd taste one of those!

We stopped by on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. The service was wonderful but we thought the wine was not anything special.

one of our many stops along the Nelson 151. It was not busy the weekday we were there and we received personal attention.

My wife and I were making a tour of the many awesome wineries in VA. We stopped at Cardinal Point on a Saturday afternoon and waited our turn as they were very busy. Just as we stepped up to the bar for our turn at tasting they Alpha female shooed us to the side to allow a large group of obviously over-beverages ladies to step up and do their tatting. This group had come in a good 20 minutes later than we did and was very loud and obnoxious. No matter what their wine is like we will never purchase any or visit their place. This place exhibits the epitome of poor service and poor management.

They had a wine infused with hops! How cool! I ended up buying a white wine that was delicious! They give discounts to teachers and military!!

I recently went to Cardinal Point with friends for a tasting and glass of wine on the deck. The wines are very unique, and you won't find anything like them anywhere else! Many of the wines are co-fermented blends, and my favorite was a hopped chardonnay called IPC — 100% chardonnay with hops added. The winery is nestled in the mountains, but easy to get to (there are signs along the roads). While there isn't a fantastic view, there is a lovely deck that is very cosy and inviting. Definitely stop by and try the wines (more on the dry side) and take a picture with their Virginia LOVEwork made out of wine barrels!

Great selection of wines and very friendly. Explained all about the various wines bottled there and with what type meal they could be served.

Intimate rural setting with a small tasting area. Plenty of room to sit outside and listen to live music. Menu offered mostly dry wines, both white and red. Also ordered a bottle of water that was incredibly refreshing. Apparently from a local distributor. If you visit, try the water too! Recommend

Thank you Emily for a great tasting. I enjoyed the wine and the outdoor patio. My favorite wines were the A6 and Quattro. I really enjoyed the IPC, a hopped Chardonnay.

Stopped by Cardinal Point this weekend for a wine tasting. They had a musician playing in an outdoor area protected from weather. It was a fine location and service was good given the slightly crowded condition. I was just not impressed with the wines or the grounds. This could be a laid back and very family oriented environment as I saw some folks playing corn hole on the grounds. But overall it is an average venue given the other area wineries.

We picked a few vineyards to visit along Rt151 and this was our first of the day. We did some research on the web before arriving and found they offered very affordable wines and a nice selection of whites. They even off a green, if you're into the Portuguese wines, which tastes quite nice!Their membership benefits are GREAT! If you're looking for GREAT deals on some good tasting wine, it's one of the best we've come across. They're dog friendly and have ample seating in various indoor and outdoor locations, including in their barrel room. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly too, including Tucker, the Golden Retriever.Oh, they offer teachers and military discounts... I would encourage them to offer public safety (police & fire) the same :)
