Two seniors planning the 300 mile drive for the Virginia Creeper bike ride, White Top Mountain to Damascus, amid many forecast rainy days. Jennifer at the Shuttle Shack helped us choose the most likely forecast sunny day and then was extraordinarily helpful and flexible in adjusting both the "reserved" day and time for our shuttle up the mountain. When a preferred shuttle time became available, she held the spot and awaited our return call. Everything on the beautiful actual morning worked on schedule; the guys in the shop provided chain lubricant for our rain-drenched bikes, and off we went.Thanks to her help and the grace of the day, we enjoyed a spectacular Fall colors ride on the Virginia Creeper.The rates quoted to us were a bit lower than the others we contacted.Although we provided our own bikes and equipment, their inventory appeared fully capable of meeting just about any normal request (Didn't see any recumbents), including for young riders or trailers, tag-a-longs and such.

We took a Youth Retreat to the Virginia Creeper and had a fantastic trip thanks to the Shuttle Shack. Being the trip organizer, I was concerned about prices and ease of logistics of bike rentals and shuttle service for a group of 20! Jennifer, the owner, spoke with me and set my mind at ease with her excellent knowledge (how long it should take, where to stop for lunch, how much money we would need for that, a good ice cream stop a the end, etc), organization of getting bikes/helmets/shuttle service, and kind, easy going personality. She made me feel like it would be great day with no unexpected hiccups...and it was! When we got there, Jennifer and her staff welcomed us like old friends, helped our group test bikes and helmets that fit us perfectly, and got us situated in the shuttle with a great driver that gave us great riding tips for our trip down the mountain. When we returned, after a fantastic trip, the staff came right out to welcome us back, took our bikes/helmets from us to wash and put away, and sent us home with a very happy experience. The Shuttle Shack is the best rental experience I've ever had! I will use them every time I visit the Virginia Creeper and will suggest to you and any one else that they are the best around!!!

I simply do not understand anything less than a 5 star review for this outstanding experience. We have now ridden the Creeper Trail 7 or 8 times and couldn't imagine using another service.Gary and Jennifer are the charming best friends you haven't met yet. Their service is warm, welcoming and highly personalized.The trail itself is phenomenal. We have ridden in all seasons and every one holds it's own charm. This was our 2nd time on the Va Creeper Trail and our first time renting from The Shuttle Shack. Great experience, extremely nice owners and the bikes were first class. I won't rent from anyone else now - and recommend it to all. I even got the "comfort seat" bike and it was great. The Creeper Trail is a must do - we'll probably be going every year - it's that much fun! And we aren't youngsters, by any means - we go with our grandsons. The downhill grade makes it work.

I really enjoyed the diligence and professionalism shown by the staff at the Shuttle Shack. They were very knowledgeable about the trail, the town and the history of the place and this added a lot of quality to my experience in the town and the trail. They were really willing to help and went above and beyond to make sure that we got the most out of experience.

We rode the Virginia Creeper trail today. It's a great trail, but that's another review. Used Shuttle Shack for bike rental and transportation. Nothing fancy. Reliable bikes and on time transport to the top of the mountain. That's what you want.

Thanks to the shuttle shack we had a great bikes ride we had never done the trail before had different age group a they help we with everything......we will be back again and again and we will use the Shuttle Shack......

Four of us did the Creeper Trail bicycle ride from Whitetop to Damascas in late May. It was spectacular. The ride is really easy, just about all downhill for 17 miles. The path is in good condition and riding is easy. The folks at The Shuttle Shack are very friendly, efficient and helpful. It is conveniently located and we would recommend you do this ride and would recommend The Shuttle Shack for rentals and shuttle.

We have rent from shuttle shack for the past three year they are the only family owned and operated shop that is in Damascus they have the best bikes we have ever rent we have been coming to Damascus to ride the creeper trail for 8 years and we found them three years ago we are glad we did be back in the fall shuttle shack....

I've rented from The Shuttle Shack twice and have been very pleased both times. The service is very friendly and the bikes are fantastic. Will definitely rent from them in the future.

We originally planned on renting a tandem bike just to ride a few miles on the VA Creeper Trail. It has been 25 years since i rode a bike and 40 years since my wife had ridden and even then very little. After explaining our experience level and what we wanted to do Jennifer at the Shuttle Shack recommend taking the shuttle to the top of the trail and riding back. It was mostly down hill and the grade was no more than 5%. We gave it a try and it was great. Good equipment, great advice from Jennifer at the start and the driver on the way up. Definitely a repeat for us.
