Very eclectic and lovely. My wife had a wonderful time shopping. If you are in the area then you must come here. We will be back!

This is always a must-stop whenever we visit Waxahachie. The shopping is usually a bit over my budget, but I love looking at their beautiful things to gather inspiration. And lunch at the Dove's Nest is always delicious. My favorite is the chicken salad, and the mini orange muffin is fabulous!

A friend and I stopped by for lunch on Halloween and the wait-staff looked so cute in their Halloween costumes. Lunch was fine-there was a rather long wait for food but it was at the end of the day. I've eaten there several times and am sure I will return. Love the shopping at the Dove's Nest-always lovely things!

My daughter took me here one weekday afternoon. Be warned: they are only open until 2:00pm! We got there about 1:30 and had to wait for about 4 other parties in front of us to be seated. But it was WELL worth the wait. Besides, you can always browse at the interesting antiques in the shop. We both ordered a vegetarian sandwich: portobello mushroom, grilled peppers, etc. It was supposed to be on Challah bread but they ran out so gave us our choice of the breads they had on hand. I chose the Honey whole wheat and it was excellent. The menu says that the sandwiches come with chips and the wraps come with fruit. However, they are glad to substitute the fruit for the chips. And they are very generous with the fruit, too: a slice of cantaloupe, bunch of grapes and 1/4 orange. Would DEFINITELY eat here again!

This place looks amazing! And a local tells me it's her favourite place to hang out. I only got to peer through the windows and get a cookbook for the restaurant next door. Recipes look great! But the shop closed at 5pm! On a Friday night!

Excellent food! If you have to wait to be seated you will not mind due to the fact that the restaurant has plenty of shopping and browsing to do right outside the entrance to the dining area. Always decked out in the current holiday finest. Unique gifts that you may not find other places. Now to the actual restaurant... I have tried many things and NEVER had ANY disappointment in the portion size or taste. This is not your typical tea room with bite size of tasteless nothings. Ohh no my friend, deliciousness awaits you! The soups are hearty. The assorted sandwiches are the best. They have daily specials as well. Orange spice tea is the house signature Southern tea. If they sold it by the gallon I would buy one or two to go. I make a point to take business colleagues, family and friends here to have a delicious dining experience when I am given the chance. Be sure and have dessert and pick up Cindy Burch's (Owner) recipe book where you will find a lot of those tasty dishes that are served at the Dove's Nest.! P.S Take your Guy with you. Mine LOVES IT!!

Nice place with good atmosphere and great food. The sandwiches are great and the deserts are rich enough for two.

I have been going here for several years, and it is still my favorite place to go to lunch with sister or girlfriends. The menu hasn't changed much, but the food is different from most, and has always been VERY good. The shop is always a fun place to browse and the atmosphere is wonderful.

My husband and I need our Dove's Nest fix every few months. It is located in Waxahatche, TX off courthouse square. The lunch menu is great pizza, soup, salads, and sandwiches. Husband gets chicken apricot salad sandwich, I enjoy their special club sandwich which includes inside a great cheese spread. The gift shop has a unique collection of potions, gourmet food items, jewelry, and great home decorations. It's just a lovely experience. We've never had the desserts but they are huge and look delicious. It's an easy drive for the Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex and certainly worth a stop if it's on your touring route.

My sister and I recently ate at the Doves nest and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The service was excellent, even though it was busy, and the food was amazing. We had a cheese and artichoke dip as an appetizer that I would highly recommend. For lunch we shared the ricotta and basil pizza but the best part was desert. We had a blackberry bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. Seriously it was heavenly and the perfect size to share. We will definitely be coming back to the restaurant. The antique store was cute and had a good mix of old an new things.

Some businesses come and go but this one seems to be a good constant. It's in a beautiful old building but, then, everything is in a beautiful old building down there. There is a good bit of shopping. Some of the prices are a little higher than what you can find at other places but occasionally there is an antique at a "steal" price or something that's just so cute that you just have to have it. I'm pretty sure that it is emporium-style, meaning that there's actually a lot of different vendors there. This visit, there was one booth with lots of styles in linen. Very cute. We didn't eat here this time but we have in the past and enjoyed it. This is the perfect spot for ladies luncheons or taking your mom out.
