Great price and its a fun course. The front 9 is open with long drives and the back 9 is a more technical.
Played this course in October while in town for a first responder seminar. Was very surprised at the upkeep of the course, it was in great shape. The views of "M" Mountain were spectacular. I'm from Florida so I'm not used to the hard ground and fast playing greens, that was a treat.
This one is worth the hour or so drive from Albuquerque to play at least once a season. We played on a Sunday with a 2 for $60 coupon, including cart, in the summer and didn't have a wait for any shots. The course was well maintained with greens in excellent condition. The fairways were a bit long in places so it would play longer than then posted yardage. The rough is pretty brutal (bermuda mix) and the greens are generally small demanding accuracy off the tee & with your irons. This is not NM desert golf like the casino resort courses closer to Albuquerque but feels closer to an east coast municipal give the trees & adjoining fairways in several places. The routing & design has a few quirks that make it memorable - the double dogleg 16th, the 13th with the green some 25-30 yards above the fairway, the severe dogleg right par 5 5th with a lake on the corner demanding a 3 wood (or less) off the tee, etc.
Every Time I Go There To Play, I Am Never Disappointed. Th Golf is great; The Staff Is Friendly; And The Grill Room Menu And Service Is Affordable And Fast. One Of The Best Places To Play In The Entire State.
Very well maintained golf course. We were ther for the Jr Golf Tournament and found it challenging, as a golf course should. Would suggest identifying locations of cart oaths income areas, they were a bit confusing.
18 holes in 3:12, only had to wait at 2 holes on front, sailed throught the back... staff was very friendly and helpful... course had several challenging holes and rolling hills made for some interesting lies... a jewel in the desert
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The course was well maintained. The scenery was outstanding. Not crowded at all. If you are a golfer, I think you will enjoy the course and atmosphere.
The NM Tech golf course, located on the campus, was both surprisingly interesting and challenging. It is easy to find the golf course, but difficult to locate the pro shop. There are no signs to guide one to the golf course, so it is best to check it out beforehand or arrive early. The pro shop is hidden behind the restaurant—again not obvious. The fairways are generally wide and the course is also not heavily bunkered. Water, however comes into play on about half the holes, the fairways are tree lined, and there are several severe doglegs. Both tees and greens are often elevated, and the greens tend to be quite fast and small.. While you can rip it off the tee, many holes require some strategic thought and accurate approaches. The scorecard is helpful as it provides a 3-line description of each hole, along with a small plan view. Both the greens and fairways were in acceptable condition. Folks are friendly (lots of students), and the rates are low. When we played, mid-week, on a beautiful spring day, the course was not crowded.
Arrived early, used a coupon I had found in the Sun Country newspaper. Believe it is a monthly paper. Good for two golfers includes golf cart, range balls, lunch for each golfer up to $5.00 each and golf for 18 holes. The price is $50.00. Just a great deal. The people, who work at the course are very friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome.
