We stopped and did the free wine tasting here also. The person was very informative of the wines we tasted. I bought a bottle of wine here. My wine rack is full now. Alot of things to offer here!

We were offered several samples with explanation of content. All were good, it was difficult to decide on which bottle to buy.

The girl who sold us the wine (niece of the owner) was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was superb. We visited this winery last and wish it would have been our first stop. We will be back. I agree this if the best winery in Amana.

We are not wine experts, but we have now visited over 40 wineries and/or tasting rooms, and we thought White Cross was a very good spot. Certainly the best in Amana. We especially like sweeter German style wines, and, no surprise, they have some very good stuff. We were the only ones there, so the staff could stick with us, but she was very helpful and engaging. If we are in Amana again its a stop we will make!

They have interesting local wines from Swisher, Iowa and a nice assortment of wine products.

The wine itself was all very yummy, and the store was cozy and inviting. The employee working was very friendly & told us a lot of neat stories about all the wines, plus what foods would go with each of them. The store also had fun snack foods inside, which I liked, but none of them were actually made in Amana so I didn't buy any.

We had gone previously and had a great experience. The Rettigs are so knowledgeable.We went in December for a wine and cheese tasting, and it was fantastic. We learned a lot about wine selection and how it goes with different cheeses, about why some wines work with some foods better than others, etc.And the wine is simply outstanding. A different selection than the usual fruity Amana wines (not that there is anything wrong with them either!).All in all a great experience with great wine. Highly recommended as a stop if you are in the Amanas and enjoy wine.

Lovely woman enjoyed talking about their delicious wines and how they differ from other area wines. Nice tasting.

They offer samples of their wines so you can determine what you like before you buy. They offer more upscale wines than do the other wineries in Amana.

This is the first place we go to when visiting the Amana Colonies. When open, they always have wine tasting, the wine is varied and fine and we always end up with a bottle of each we taste. Also the place to get the gourmet specialty products for use in cooking. Vintner's Dinners in associationn with a local restaurant are fun to do with friends about every 6 weeks or so. The menu is chosen by the chef and wine experts and a different wine is paired with each course of the select theme dinner. We try to attend each time.
