sacagawea interpretive, cultural and education center

This is a beautiful park in the Tri cities. There are big trees that provide shade. The interpretive center has history lessons of interest. There is a bluegrass festival there every June combines with Dutch Oven clubs, so great music and food for all!

We stopped here on September 13 and the center (small building) was closed but the grounds were still easily accessible. We did our own walking tour of the site. Sculpture of Sacagawea and Seaman. Nice day, easy stop just sorry the main building was closed.

We enjoy history and had a little extra time, so we stopped in to view the cultural walk. The walk is easy but can be warm on sunny days. It's beautiful and will give you a glimpse of the history of the area and how Sacagawea was part of it. The displays are a nice touch. If you have some time and like history stop in. It won't be a long visit but will give you real American history.

Great volunteer at the visitor center, pack water for the outdoor interpretive center as there's NO shade on the walk. Nice space, will be interesting to see how they expand on the current interpretive displays. Center is small, so don't plan on a long visit on a rainy day! Plenty of parking, great events calendar.

Great walk by the river. Great view of the mtns. It doesn't cost anything to go there. Very beautiful.

Beautiful setting with great history and displays. The cultural walk by the river is superb. The staff are very knowledgeable and be sure to take in one of the live demonstrations with story=telling

I was here to attend a meeting. The facility is nice, beautiful peaceful setting in the valley of the Salmon River. The conference center deck overlooks the valley with views of the mountains and I loved the nature path with interpretive signs.

Nice information presented, very serene and lovely atmosphere. Love the flowers, trees and scenery. A nice tribute to a very interesting and important historical lady, as well as the culture she lived in. A lovey bronze figure of Sacagawea with beautiful scenery in the background. If you are a history buff and are in Salmon, do visit!

In September, 2014 my niece had a beautiful wedding reception at the Sacagawea Center. The Bitterroot and Salmon Mountains surround this beautiful place. Magistic and Awesome views. The grounds and building were perfect for the outdoor and indoor party. The next morning I went to an outdoor church service at the same location. Thank you Salmon, Idaho for a wonderful experience.

Worth the time. This entire area is overload Lewis and Clark, and a little about Sacagawea is fun to know. For some reason I thought she was from back east. Center shows how things were in her time and gives a good look at some different perspectives.

My grandson enjoyed wandering the extensive grounds and seeing eagles and deer. Very well laid out, large and enjoyable walk.

The walk is not hard at all. Has a great view of the mountains. We were there for a concert and it was a fun time with the mountains in the background.

concise, to the point. I find less "politicization" of museum presentations more favorable.. In a day and age where U.S. history as taught in some U.S. public schools represents jaw-dropping, liberal finger-pointing judgements of our ancestors, this location was refreshing.

We travel to Salmon quite often to visit our daughter & family & rarely pass up a chance to visit the Sacajawea Center. It is in a beautiful setting with the Bitterroot Mountains in the background. The sculpture of Sacajawea & Pomp are magnificent as well as the dog, eagle sculptures & the wonderful nature trail to walk & read about the history. It's a wonderful experience to be in the middle of such history :& beauty.

My husband and I made a point of stopping by the Sacajewea Interpretive Center because of the Trip Advisor reviews we had read, and I am glad we did. I have visited many many Lewis and Clark sited in the PNW over my many decades and this one was one of the best.The Center's development was locally inspired and executed by the residents of the Salmon area and has been very tastefully done. Several videos are available for viewing as are artifacts, photos, and plaques for more understanding of this era of US history. Outside there are two walking trails, one about a mile and the other a bit longer, but all flat and easy to navigate. Along the main trail are explanatory plaques and physical examples of life in Sacajewea's day.The $5.00 fee was well worth the visit. I highly recommend stopping by the center when you are next in Salmon.
