First day was at the Eagle-Vail pavilion. We were fitted with equipment and began learning strokes and bracing techniques in the pond. We also worked on wet exits. The precursor to learning how to roll a kayak. (Righting your kayak if you flip upside down. This last about 2 hours or so.Day 2 was exciting! On the eagle river we met at Alpine kayak in Edwards, at around 8am. We drove to the Upper Colorado River. We were on the river for most of the day. Learning more bracing techniques, ferrying, wet exits, scouting the river. Very fun class and met some interesting people.After taking this class one is able to join in on the kayak club. Check with the shop for dates, prices and times. Alpine Kayak also teaches a roll class at the Avon Rec. Center, for an additional cost.The shop also has classes for other outdoor activities.
