While this is a rather small museum, it is definitely worth the stop. It was a very pleasant surprise to send both the museum portion and the art display

Definitely include this free local treasure during your visit to Loveland. Enjoyed the special exhibition as well - for a small fee, which supports this museum. Displays include paintings, sculptures, and fine art photography. Local history was interesting as well. Learn the significance of those silos on the NW side of town ~ who would've guessed the importance of sugar beets to the area! Street parking was easy. Great dining/coffee houses nearby as well. (See Next Door/The Coffee Tree).

Wonderful exhibit. The museum is not crowded and there is plenty of time to wander as much as you like. I especially liked this exhibit with the deconstructed photo book from Ansel Adams and his friends. I had never seen many of the pieces previously.

We were drawn to a weekday visit by the special O'Keefe/Adams exhibit. It was interesting but frankly a bit of a letdown compared to other O'Keefe and Adams shows/galleries we have visited elsewhere in larger settings. We enjoyed the rest of the local history museum and found it well done for the size of the community. We especially liked learning about the history of sugar beets in NoCo - something we had not been exposed to before moving here. I don't know if I would have made a special trip to Loveland to see this, but it was nice being only a few miles from our home.

Drawn by the O'Keefe,,Ansel Adams and Arthur Wesley Dow exhibit.......we drove up to Loveland and met friends who came down from Ft. Collins. We were there today, Saturday Dec.20th and were also amazed at the number of people trotting in. The Gallery was crowded. In addition to the above, artist Ralph Nagel is featured in a gallery downstairs and his IMPRESSIONS of GHOST RANCH is a true crowd pleaser. Not only that, MANY of his works have sold!!!!!!!Permanent galleries highlight the history of Loveland and that too, was a treat. The O'Keefe,Adams,Dow exhibition ends on Dec.31st, so there is still time to see it. Nagel's watercolors are up until January 11,2015.What an enjoyable 1-2 hours.

Did not expect to learn so much about Loveland, Colorado. The Sugar Beet Exhibit was very interesting as was the walk through time in the rest of the museum. Really enjoyed this little museum in the heart of town.

We went basically to see a special exhibit so we did not have the time to visit the rest of the museum - we will definitely return for that. Currently and only until Dec 3, there is a small but very well done and powerful exhibit arranged by their curator just for this museum (too bad it won't travel): Georgia O'Keeffe, Ansel Adams, and Arthur Wesley Dow. Dow was an early influence on O'Keeffe as well as on modern art itself. Ansel Adams and O'Keeffe had an association based on their common love of the natural world. This exhibit has photos taken on a 1938 camping trip to Yosemite which he did with Godfrey and Helen Rockefeller, a Rockefeller cousin, and Georgia O'Keeffe. It's a terrific little exhibit with many wonderful pieces of art and photography.

For such a little place it was great! I love history. We went to see 0'keeffe and Ansel Adams exhibit but the rest of the museum claimed more of our time. The history exhibits are delightful to see.

What a great find! The museum tells a full story about the history of the area. Nice dioramas, newspaper clippings and other artifacts from the Loveland are. The museum is free. The art gallery has interesting art displayed. The charge for this is only $5 per person. Better than going to a movie!

Take the time to visit this small but very nice museum and gallery. Check it to see if they have any special collections before you go. The museum tells the great history of Loveland.

This is probably the nicest small town museum I have ever been in. The exhibits are well organized and thoughtfully presented. I had no idea about the interesting history to this area...left informed and impressed!

I had no idea how important history was to this area but this museum showcases it all and gets you excited to go see the historic downtown section which they have kept remarkably vibrant.

We happened to visit the museum while they were hosting the governor's collection, so I am not sure what it would be like when it is not there. However, the museum has three floors and in addition to art and sculptures, also has artifacts relevant to local history. The cost was $5 for adults and worth it in my opinion. It is also located in close proximity to a number of local art studios and galleries which make for a nice art tour.

My friend and I go once a year to this museum, has many special artists displays along with pieces representing the culture of the area. Definity worth the visit.
