This house was on the Natchitoches Christmas Tour of Homes. We loved the ladies from the Service League being there and were wonderful hostesses. The tour was very informative, and the tasting treats at the end of the tour was delicious!

Recently our son was married here. Beautiful home and location for a wedding. They wanted an outdoor wedding but also a backup plan in case of bad weather. It was the perfect choice!!

It has been my pleasure to enjoy this treasured structure through the many functions hosted in the house through the Service League of Natchitoches' and the Prudhomme-Rouquier House Foundation's generosity. The House has been decorated to coinside to the time period wherein its second residents remodeled it to the Greek Revival facade we see today and has been richly furnished in period antiques and reproduction pieces of the finest quality. It is a true treasure to the community and a MUST SEE when visiting Natchitoches.

(2001 visit) The house has been remodeled but there are no furnishings; however, the grounds are well-maintained and beautiful. I am a seventh generation Prud'homme and very proud of my heritage. My grandfather Jean Baptiste went down to the plantation in 1905 to collect his inheritance and he came back with a cow. My uncle Lester stopped by the plantation when Alphonse still lived there and Alphonse's wife wouldn't let them in the door. Lester was a natty man and his charm convinced the wife to let them in.
