The gardens here are so well-kept and something is always in bloom from May to November. I often stop just to walk through and see what's in bloom, or just sit on a bench for a while in peace. Be sure to go out back to the serpentine brick wall and see the vegetable garden too. Many people come here to take photos. It's just a lovely place, and it's free.

Any Trustees location is wonderful to see and well kept. We were lucky to have a home tour on an Open Weekend. Usually just the grounds are open, but they alone make a wonderful walk. We are planning on going back in summer to see the growth and change in the gardens. We did not see them, but there are cows on the property. It is easy to get to, and there is ample parking.

We had been to Stevens Coolidge once in the early spring, and thought it was nice but not special. We went back in early October, though, and the flowers being in bloom made all the difference. The gardens were just gorgeous and, like the Trustees' Long Hill property (in Beverly), you're allowed to pick your own flowers for a small fee. We couldn't believe we were the only ones there and, given the lack of a guide, you feel like you own the place rather than like a tourist. A real hidden gem on the north shore.

This property consists of an older restored dwelling and a large yard with gardens and a trail. It is a pleasant visit in the spring and summer, and we've seen a couple of painters taking advantage of the location. I agree with earlier comments about the place being peaceful and pleasant, but it is not on the same level as a few other garden locations in the Boston area. Quiet adventure is correct.

We went in early July and there were a few gardens with flowers in bloom. It took about 20 minutes to walk (slowly) and see everything.

My family always loves visiting Stevens Coolidge. Its full of quiet adventure and free;) They have large green areas, gardens, secret pathways for the kids to explore, and you must bring a Picnic to make this trip complete!
