Drinks are high here but everyone there didn't seem to mind since there is a DJ spinning some fun music and the pool is large enough to hold lots of people. We didn't visit Margaritaville but only for about 1 hour as we were spending the day down by Jack's Shack a little further down the beach. I heard there are lots of fish at the beach in front of Margaritaville and free chairs.
Stopped here during a cruise. We rented a cabana for our crew, which turned out to be a nice respite from the sun, and all you had to do to get food and beverage service was push a button! Loved the pool, and enjoyed watching the dancing and the Flow Rider. There were plenty of lounges and it's an easy walk from the cruise ship. It's easy to spend the whole day "wasting away in Margaritaville."
We dropped in for a cold one and stayed for Pina Colada's, beers and a huge helping of nachos. The waitress brought us our food balanced on her head and she was lots of fun too. Everyone was really friendly --- Good Times!
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Grand Turk is such an awesome place! There is a gorgeous white sand beach area, and then a few short steps away is the most massive free form pool. Surrounding the pool is plenty of loungers. There is a restaurant, bar, shops, etc. but the best is the swim up bar. Adjacent to the pool is the Flow Rider which is an extra fee. It looked like great fun. At the beach, there are locals renting various beach gear, etc. for $10 I rented snorkel equipment (sans flippers), and really enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach. One of the locals told me to go to the other side of some piers to see better fish. Wasn't good advice- the area was extremely rocky and I didn't see any fish. I was better off at the beach near Margaritaville. I wish I could comment on the food, but I didn't get a chance to try any. Instead went horseback riding on the other side of the island, which I will review another time. All in all, I would love to go back to grand Turk and this area. It was like paradise and had something for everyone!!
Stopped here during a cruise. It was an awesome time. Right on the beach, huge facility, great drinks and awesome locals. The bartenders were well versed and ready to put a little extra in your drink just because and to keep the party going. The drinks were expensive, but they were worth it. I didn't try the food (but it did look and smell good), or pool or even the wave runner. I simply sat back and enjoyed speaking with the locals, having a drink and enjoyed the surroundings. It is most certainly a tourist trap type place, and intended for a tourist, so you won't get a true taste of the Island experience. But it was still fun and I still had a great time. It was a kid friendly establishment, but intended more for adults.
It was a good time I can't lie. I was sitting out on the beach and ordered a drink (in one of their glasses with Grand Turk on it..cheesy but I wanted a souvenir). The drinks were expensive but I knew that before ever walking in. (There are locals on the beach selling rum with way more kick for pennies in comparison) You could tell everyone was enjoying themselves and the DJ was making sure of that. The pool was nice as well, but why use the pool when there is a beautiful ocean right there?
Traveling on a Carnival cruise. It is located as part of the port entry as you leave the lier. The physical facility is nice. Excellent pool; food (appetizer sampler) was pretty good; Wave Rider looked like fun but we didn't try it ($59 for an hour). However, the "Perfect Margarita" was one of the worst (very sour and diluted) we ever had. The server took it back and all they did was add more tequila. Now all we had was a very strong but lousy Margarita. Another server (Chastity) checked on us and immediately took the drink away and brought us another drink of our choice. It was very good. However, the quality of the drink should not depend on which server you happen to get.Seems like a place called Margaritaville should pride itself on the quaility of a Margarita. However, everybody else in our group avoided the Margarita's and said the drinks were good.
We visited this place as a stop aboard a cruise. We have been here before so we felt that we couldnt go wrong while looking for a day of fun and sun. This visit was a bit more crowded because there were a few cruise boats in port but we still enjoyed our stay. The flowrider was fun and a definite must do. Drinks are expensive.
Went there as soon as we could get off the cruise ship. It wasn't crowded @ that time but it became VERY crowded later on. You can sit *IN* the swimming pool, @ the bar! Delicious Pina Coladas will keep you there too. A fun place, good food & service, a bit pricey .. but you are on vacation! Do Not Get (Buy) Their Souvenir Glasses, which are way too expensive & boost the price of drinks. In regular plastic cups (no glass allowed in or near the pool), two drinks, w/tip was just under $20. Around lunchtime the place is crowded & the party is in full swing. It gets wilder & crazier as the afternoon progresses. You can walk to the beach f/JBM's -- or walk back & forth. Decent place f/fun !
Rented a cabana through Carnival Cruise Line. The cabana was air conditioned and contained couches for relaxing. It has a cute front porch with lawn chairs and an outdoor shower. The pool is right there and the beach is a short walk. Amazing day!!!
Wow, this place was GREAT! Beautiful. Staff was good, but english wasn't the greatest. Service was ok. But the scenery was the best. We were there on a cruise and just had to visit another Margaritaville. Oh the souvenir shop was kinda high.
This place was very nicely set up, but the service was absolutely awful. The staff was very rude and could barely speak English. Our waiter messed our drink orders up and never apologized, he just threw the drinks on the table and walked off, never asking if we needed anything else. We paid $65 for just 4 alcoholic drinks!! The bat part abou Grand Turk was the free beach, it was very nice and perfect weather.
called in on cruise ship....rented hire car for the day......,told there was no need to refuel vehicle at end of day as there are not a lot of miles you can cover. But was handy to get to swim / snorkel beaches and tour to light house visit museum, old shipwreck sailors museum, and 1962 splash down of mercury space capsule now on display.....Jimmy's Margaritaville is just a bonus and some stayed there all day. great place, drinks a plenty & good food..bought too many souvenirs.
This place is gorgeous and a great place to swim and play. The swim up pool bar had very slow service. We waited over a half hour to get the attention of a bartender to help us. The drinks, when you could one, were very good. The beach was very nice and the water was beautiful and clear.
I have just returned from visiting Margaritaville on Grand Turk. The experience was wonderful. The huge pool that winds around the resort, comfy loungers, swim up bar, great food. You can also go on the beach if you prefer and swim in the warm caribbean waters, Music plays all day and the margaritas are to die for. A must if you are cruising in that part of the world.
