statue of saint clare

We have seen Statue of Saint Clare multiple times as we are frequently in the area. The status is at the 3 acre civic center area of Santa Clara. The statue of Saint Claire reminds one of the city's history and connection to the Catholic Church and California Missions. The statue was completed in 1965 and weighs 3 tons and is 20 feet high. The sculptor is Anne Van Kleeck,

This was a great statue to see. The statue is impressive and there is a plaque telling you about it's delivery to Santa Clara. It is unfortunately right on the main road of El Camino Real so it is not a peaceful place to sit and reflect or anything but it was neat to see for a few minutes.

Love the fountain. Lots of friendly birds & ducks. Watch out for duck poop, and bring lots of bread to feed the ducks.

Amazingly inviting with it's water accents and plants surrounding it. This is a landmark for this area and I have enjoyed it's welcome for over 40 years!

Current statue, fountain, softe light, gentle park. What not to like!
